Can you mod Fast Travel / adjust vision range?
« on: July 15, 2016, 10:03:31 pm »

As a max str + agi + endurance peregrine falcon man I am able to, during normal travel, fly at high altitude over all terrain at 4.4 speed continuous.

Is it possible to mod Fast Travel to allow movement over water and through mountains, as well as making the world time advance 4.4x slower?

(Moved topic from Adventure Mode discussion, when I was still an Escaped Lunatic, bumped for visibility.)

AFAIK: No.

It may be possible to do something with DFHack, but it would probably not work all that well if at all.

Aha, but I have another idea!

I notice when I go into areas with low visibility (such that you can only see, say, 3 tiles ahead of you) the ground scrolls past me very quickly, and the time it takes to load the next map square also quickens.

So is it possible, then, to mod a toggle between normal vision and short-vision?

I was blinded in a fight before, too

I mean, yes, I can think of a definite way to do that, but it's literally just blinding and unblinding the player.
