...Well, not quite. After a humiliating failed attempt at robbing what you now know was an organ transport (and, more importantly, an explosion near the Governor's nephew's hab), the Governor ordered your organs removed along with an arm and a leg. You are now a cyborg.

Most of your budget was spent on a neural control interface because how else would a head control such a body? This has left you without self-repair, without an internal reactor, and with the shoddy, not terribly human-like Cyprifab parts, and here on Venus Aerostat North, everyone seems to think that only the most desperate would possibly buy Cyprifab, and rightly so. You've certainly been reading up on their infamous glitches, and this body really is a deathtrap, not to mention a Watt-guzzler.

Now, you can try out some honest work, but the sort who would hire a Cyprifab cyborg tend to pay poorly. Perhaps you could instead try to get into the organlegging trade, join up with the Ern gang, or look for the infamous Haph family. But first...

You are Bobby Bishop, not-so-proud-anymore holder of a Doctorate in Liberal Arts. You have enough money to last you about an Earthweek fully supplied, or somewhere around 6% of the Veneran day. After cursory browsing on the local web, you've found a number of decent options for honest work:
    Buy a one-way ticket to the KytheraCorp mining aerostat ($70 nowadays) and slowly work your way to organicness, better parts, or Earth, hoping your parts last you long enough. At least this way, you don't have to worry about housing, food, and the occasional charging.
    Work at the recycling plant and try skmming the more interesting components. They say Mad Mathilde can jury-rig decent parts for a generous donation.

Somewhat less scrupulously, you could also look into the infamous organleggers, try joining the Ern gang, or try looking for the infamous Haph family.

The Haph family are a notorious criminal family rumored to have removed the previous Governor, who somehow managed to fly a glider pod below the Death Zone without particularly powerful rockets. They are blamed for the apathy of the current Patrol, redirecting tax money, the death of an auditor sent all the way from Earrth from an environment suit failure, and controlling the trade of Earth pharmaceuticals. How much is true or false depends on who you ask.

Time to start looking for some way into the Haph family, then! You know you've seen shady, oddly-dressed folks with orange pins around, surely you can find them again? Of course, you only saw them once every few weeks or so. Maybe you'd be able to find a member as soon as in a day or two if you searched hard enough, but then again, that would be risky with only $100 left for food and energy. You suspect taking a job at the recycler could tide you over until you finally manage to make contact with the Haphs (and hopefully join them), but the long hours do mean you can only devote a few hours to the search. On the somewhat literal bright side, how fortunate that today and the next few Earthdays are Sundays! You've heard far too many stories on what happens during Stardays. The sciencey folks always said it wasn't possible to have a Sunforever for some reason. Something about wind, the sciencey kids usually said.
