That's one hell of a theory! I hope you find success in applying that. And I must compliment you on your system, Nobunaga! Tangible bits really are the best way to assemble something as complex as magic. I'd probably do the same myself, but my magic comes from a very limited amount of conscious instruction. To learn a spell, I basically just figure out what I need the magic to do, and work at it until I've managed to internalize the spell process to the point that I can make all the necessary adjustments to fit the situation basically automatically. sort of like learning the motion of vaulting over obstacle. Beyond picking the effects beforehand, magic for me is really just the brute force and dexterity of the mind.

I suppose becoming a shikaisen is something similar, but that's essentially displacing one's entire soul at least temporarily, so the principles might not apply. . . and I'm not aware of the full details of the process, either." A definite note of frustration enters his voice at this last.

Hecate seems to have taken more interest in the subject, taking a drink from her cup of coffee. Her eyes glimmer for a few seconds, and Nobunaga's display also glows green, before Hecate tilts her head at it.
"Huh. Cool. Looks pretty. Kinda risky though, seeing as I can kinda just....err....blow this whole thing up right now. You sure this is safe?"

"I don't use this in combat, of course, but the system is stable unless someone mucks with it. Even then, I'm not actually channeling that much power through it at the moment, so blowing it up wouldn't do a lot more than singe me and make me lose a lot of work, as well as provoking reprisal."

"Mind if I....err, tinker with it a little? I won't do anything like make it blow up on you, I promise. Just, I dunno....make it a little less vulnerable to being blown up by anyone and their mother."

Nobunaga looks at her for a moment, and quickly presses a few of the symbols. "It already has defensive measures in place, but go ahead."

Hecate's hands suddenly fly about at it as if she were shifting a load of tiles, with Nobunaga's symbols glowing green with energy as Hecate does....something to them.
".....hm. Well. This looks pretty well safeguarded, but I.....touched it up a little."

Arane's attention shifts from her nearly finished plate of meats to the dragon. She waits in anticipation as her curiosity has been kindle.

Joshua looks to writing in his book observing the interaction between Hecate and Nobunaga, though he does seem to glance over to the other conversations around the room while he writes, looking to not even need to look at his book when writing.
