After hacking a few more times, Nobunaga recovers. "I apologize, that was incredibly rude of me. You see, in Taoist tradition there are tales of monsters coming from the underworld to drag hermits back down to it, and in some versions the ones doing the dragging are kishin chiefs..."He trails off, realizing belatedly that his explanation may have worsened the insult.

Supposedly one can resist or fight off the creature - usually they are shinigami, but as I said some versions claim they are kishin - if one has been diligent in training and meditation, but I'm merely a novice...

Kishin are fierce gods, or demon chiefs, depending on what tradition you follow."
