I am starting to think the only reason he doesn't ban Gay marriage is because it would be lengthy and costly...

Pretty much everything he has promised to do is lengthy and costly and stupid. Do I really need to mention the wall?

Obviously, he'll build the wall on the promise that Mexico will pay for it (but use US tax dollars instead) and then claim that Mexico paid for it once the wall is built.

...I wouldn't be surprised if that's actually what happened.

Beware making statements of necessity when in regards to Trump. He's stepped back on plenty of things before that were "utterly vital". He might well, as I've seen some Trump voters advocate, turn around and make The Wall into a metaphor for harsh immigration policies instead of a literal wall.

The sample size seems pretty low. But it was 5% Dem, 10% Ind, 8% Repub, 6% Lib, 7% Mod, 9% Con. That seem ridiculously high. No matter the side.

If we're lucky, he'll damage the Republican Party into finally putting on their big-boy pants and stop pissing themselves with stupidity.

I mean good lord. The ACA might not be well-liked by everyone, but just throwing it out is a horrifyingly stupid plan that undercuts millions of Americans, some of whom who voted for you in ignorance.

With any luck, the Democratic takes the next election because no one likes Trump, the Republicans clean house because their toxic shit, and we all go back to having two parties that aren't destroying the country.

If there was any intention of the Republican Party reforming their shit, we would have seen it by now. It's been a continuous spiral. I think Reagan-waifu is a shit, but you can make a strong argument for him, and he was definitely given a democratic mandate. Bush Sr., like whatever. Nobody remembers that, stop lying. I don't even remember the name of Clinton's second term challenger.

Then there's Dubya, which I think we don't really need to talk about. McCain was like a half-step in the right direction, and I'll grant that the dude sticks to his principles, but the immense pressure to reach as far into the moderate vote as possible after Dubya makes me see this one as an outlier. It definitely didn't indicate a trend when Romney was nominated, with all the boringness of McCain and all the sneering elitism of...himself, really.

And then Trump. That's almost 40 years of shit, and I'm not even talking about Nixon. If they had a way out, I think they would have taken it by now.

The Republicans are tied to their far-right psycho vote, losing those few percent would be fatal. This makes them substantially changing impossible, even post-Trumpening. That's not even getting into the mess that is the connection between the social and financial rights through the Religious Right, although that one has come partially undone with Trump.

So, it's hard to pay attention to politics anymore, I've got a brain thing which censors reality tv and my eye can't even see it except to trigger the "change it" reflex, but a good hearty lulz can still get my attention.

This, I would say, is a good hearty dollop of lulz.
