But I didn't say anything like that. I said it's blamed as anti-Russian hysteria by the Democrats. Do I have to spell the same thing out again:

- Conservatives traditionally blame liberals as being a commie front

- Now real evidence of Russian nefarious doings is appearing

- But that's clearly just liberal paranoia, with conservatives acting like they're baffled that you'd think the Russians would ever try to manipulate America.

Conservatives blame liberals on being a Russian front? Is that something real post 1990?

Yes

The Republicans have also been calling Obama (and Democrat ideas in general) a socialist all these years, nullifying whatever negative to the word that the Republicans were trying to imply because it's become near meaningless.

The politicians, at least publicly and AFAIK, aren't slinging the word communist around at Democrats. But, as long as the word Communist still triggers people, it's going to be in fashion to do that.

Yeah, but saying he's socialist isn't the same as saying he's a russian stooge. Plenty of center-left party call themselves socialists.

Not in America, at least not the ones with any political standing. Here, for those that lived during the Cold War, saying 'socialist' is auto-trigger for 'DIRTY COMMIE!', at least when thrown around in political discourse. I don't know how those people view European center-left parties that use socialist as part of their name.

If I'm not mistaken , didn't one of these people with no political clout narrowly fail to become the Democratic nominee?

Why do I get the feeling that the Secret Service's main objective will not be to 'protect the president when the need arises', but rather 'take out the president when the need arises'..

One handy thing is that Google allows you to search specific date ranges for hits. "Obama Russian Agent" (limited to dates of 2008-2014) gives back 10/10 hits on the first page, saying that Obama was indeed a commie agent of the KGB:

Has the possible penetration of the U.S. Government by foreign spies become a laughing matter for the Obama Administration? Are they fearful that a realistic review of what the Russian agents were doing would lead to the conclusion that Obama’s foreign policy plays into the hands of the Russian government and has in fact been manipulated by the Kremlin?

I'm kind of curious as to what Russia would be actually accomplishing if they did "infiltrate" the US government or whatever.  Is it that they would get a free pass for whatever activities they are doing in Europe? Is it that they think they would get a free pass to doing stuff in the Arctic?  Do they think they will get tax dollars from the US population?

I've got to believe it's more the former two than the latter; I don't think Russian leadership really has any interest in the actual US landmass.  The really sad thing is it really does seem like national leaders are playing some kind of board game, where the vast majority of the population of countries just wants to eat and be comfortable / entertained.  Maybe it really is bread and circuses where as long as the controlling parties just dole those things out to the masses, the masses just don't care.

one-China stuff
I guess maybe our president-elect should be a little more tactful, but I don't think China is in the clear on this one - they are acting like a child themselves, saying "hey our way or we take our ball and go home!"

It doesn't help much that it's basically ye olde territorial claim dispute.

I know I am being stupid but my opinion of this is kind of... Screw China...

Mind you... Trump is doing it more out of ignorance and more not wanting to bend over backwards for someone who ultimately isn't even a strong ally with the USA...

Then him basically doing a "Take that" to China because of their numerous... >_> Well... China isn't exactly a "Good" country... We will put it at that.

Well, Trump isn't even president yet, and he's already pissed off China and basically said he doesn't trust his intelligence services.

Bad things come in threes, as the saying goes. What do you think he's going to fuck up in the 5 weeks or so before his inauguration?

I meant political parties, not people specifically, and Sanders didn't have 'no' political clout.

It doesn't help much that it's basically ye olde territorial claim dispute.

It's more than a territorial dispute to them. To the Chinese, Taiwan is a breakaway province.

It also doesn't help that China has been escalating military flights around Taiwan recently, which is bothering our ally Japan.

Meanwhile, China is literally setting itself up for a trade war. The article itself is about Europe, but it's equally relevant for the US. Obama is likely to fire the first shots in a potential trade war.

I could see this potentially escalating shortly after inauguration....

Well, Trump isn't even president yet, and he's already pissed off China and basically said he doesn't trust his intelligence services.

TBH, I'm a bit surprised that the White House hasn't told him to STFU (not publicily anyway) and stop screwing around before he's even inaugurated yet.

Also, McConnell has broken from Trump and joined the other Senators (including Minority leader Chuck Schumer) in doing an investigation into the Russian hacking and meddling.
