a dark horse situation would only make victory easier for the major contenders. See historical footnote about Ross Perot.

current polling does not favor this outcome though.

There's nothing positive about Johnson except that he wants to legalize weed.

There's not really anything the main contendors have going for them other than "not the other main contendor", too. It's really just all crap.

No, I will not accept your "both sides bad" handwaving. Donald Trump is a uniquely unqualified garbage fire of a candidate who must be stopped.

I never got to see actual, confirmed numbers for candidates, so I'm pretty out of the loop with statistics. And I don't trust any of the normal media sources to give me anything resembling accurate statements.

Oh and I missed that gem:
Quote from: Flying Dice
On a side note, god damn, that POTUS ballot. In addition to the Dems and Reps, we had the Greens and Libs (as expected), and two or three other candidates from other third parties. With any luck the mainline party that loses will be so salty that they try to kill FPTP and amend the Constitution for ordered-list runoff elections. That alone would be a massive step towards fixing the system.

HAHAHAHAAahaha, ohhh you crack me up. I'm certain you know that's never going to happen. Even if the Dem/Rep reivalry wasn't just fabricated partisanship for the sake of dividing, distracting, and controlling the populace, they'd never do that because it would negatively affect their careers too.
"fabricated partisanship" ??? WTF you're smoking man, that must be some good shit

Dude, stop panicking like a little girl. Remember, Republicans are likely to lead in the first hours after polls get closed because their states are less populated, and thus are faster to count.

Our ballot was rather extensive, compared to some of these others being bandied about: Republican, Democrat-Farmer-Labor, Constitution, Green, Legalize Marijuana (does for both a name and a platform precis), Socialist Workers, American Delta, Independence, and Libertarian.  Oh, and a write-in slot for anyone who wanted to Mickey Mouse it or put in a serious alternate candidate.

Of course, it is rather telling that the Presidential slot was the only one to offer that kind of range.  The Independence Party was willing to put up a representative at the federal level (and to be fair, they have had local success here in the past), but otherwise?  Hah, no; apparently, it was "go big or go home" for the third parties, with no grassroots necessary.
