Spent 3 and a half hours at the DMV today getting a license so I can vote. Will get a license in about 2 weeks, no clue if this temporary thing lets me vote or not. Will be testing that tomorrow. If not, it's off to the DMV for another 3 hours on Wednesday.
This, by the way, is what Republican voter suppression looks like in a red state.
You removed some of your rights, your allowed to travel without a licence as long as its not business related.
True, you can walk just about anywhere you please without a drivers license. Except on the road of course.
Besides, he's not getting it so he can drive, it's so he can vote, due to stupid Republican voter suppression. If you want to complain about removing rights, complain at the Republicans.
That's something I was complaining about before, in Memphis it's really bad since they specifically pushed to fund a library photo id system with the idea that they would qualify for voting and such, only for it to be brought up and blocked by the court here. So instead of heading a mile or so in pretty much any direction to get a library card/id to vote with I would have to head out about twice as far to a bus stop, make three or four transfers, walk another half mile or so to the dmv, hope I've got the necessary proof of residence and such, and then head back. Naturally this would all have to be done during work/school hours since they aren't open outside of that generally.
I mean, I don't respect or accept any legal system which allows me to be attacked with no recourse, but I'm not going to go pissing them off
because they can attack me with no recourse. That's the worst part of the sovereign citizen morons. "NUH UH, YOU CAN'T DO THAT BECAUSE I SAID SO!" Yeah, if only it worked that way kiddo, now shut the fuck up and put your head down so it doesn't hit the door as you get stuffed in the back of the cruiser.
