God it's embarrassing thinking about how I sounded sometimes back in the late 90's.

That's nothing, it's embarrassing thinking about how I sounded just two years ago.

If it's alright to ask, how come something only 2 years ago seems embarrassing ? What can make such a change in a short time ?

A large number of various things happening in a sequential manner, such as:

1) the fact that Russian government openly lied and insulted me during the 2014 Crimean takeover when it said that "there are no Russian troops guarding the streets, anyone who thinks that is a lunatic", which really started to bother me after a while,

2) realization that most conspiracy theories are complete bullshit because of seeing just how much stuff was going on simply because of semi-random events happening, which led to

3) the fact that almost all of unique and key Russian positions are based on conspiracy theories, which made me seriously doubt their truthfulness;

4) the fact that Russian government has, for a long time, supported the inane Su-25 version of MH370 shootdown for a year and then just dropped it in favour of Ukrainian Buk explanation, despite there being lots of "factual evidence" and a video "confession" from the supposed Ukrainian pilot, which led to me to believe that Russian government's official point of view was internally incoherent and also lying from the start, since I knew that it was actually a Russian Buk from the beginning, and led me to open my mind to alternatives;

5) the seeming inability of other Russian posters to engage in a proper mutually influential discussion instead of pointless bickering finally pushing me towards seriously studying Western ideological basis to be able to get my point of view clearly to the Western people, which

6) made me realize that most of the Western economic capitalist positions which I believed to be false and untrue were actually true and had many facts supporting them, like China going capitalist and getting rich despite supposedly being a "periphery economic" that isn't supposed to get rich under current main Russian economical conspiracy theory, while

7) the shining example of the single remaining "working" communistic economic, Venezuela, has descended into shortages of food and overall chaos due to Venezuelian government making incredibly dumb decisions (like forcing people to sell important stuff like fuel waaay below their self-sufficiency cost, like seriously WTF is that shit), which finally

8 ) led me to a realization that there's no economic/technological "silver bullet" that would've allowed Russia to outpace NATO economically in our current situation, which basically means that we were incredibly stupid to go and try picking up a long-term fight with them. Which I totally did by supporting Russian Crimean takeover in 2014 while sounding like a bad Russian patriot, which is what made me severely embarrassed that I haven't realized all that stuff earlier.
I still don't believe in Russian liberals being up to anything good after me fact-checking on their stupid statements and, sadly, confirming their reality, but I'm potentially open to change my mind on that issue, if provided with sufficient facts (though I seriously doubt there are going to be any, they're like really fucking stupid).

Two years is also probably time enough to exit the tail end of puberty, which is probably about accurate from what I know of Sergarr's age.

I don't think I'm anywhere near the tail end of that, let's just leave it at that.

Russia kind of has my immediate ire as a "I don't trust their government" with the whole "We will stomp free speech into the mud if it disagrees with us!" aspect.

The really funny thing about that is that I'm like halfway sure that it all started from me once hearing someone say that "arguments on Internet never change anyone's minds", and deciding to go fuck them over in the most direct manner by ever-so-slowly changing my mind after probably hundreds of arguments on the Internet.

Russia kind of has my immediate ire as a "I don't trust their government" with the whole "We will stomp free speech into the mud if it disagrees with us!" aspect.

It's kind of hard to see from the inside, though, especially if you're taught to be a very patriotic and upright citizen that believes in the truth of communistic thought and doesn't listen to the obvious falsehoods of those filthy Westerners.

I can't believe I was seriously like that just 3-4 years ago.

That they certainly are. I think Assange has recently been reposting tweets of Hillary being literally the devil. Not 100% sure, but he really hates her guts.

I mean, just the total lack of Wikileaks', well, leaks on Trump, a candidate who most certainly has a veritable army of skeletons marching in the closet, should be enough to convince anyone that they're not exactly impartial here.

Lemme know when Kerry straight up tells Ecuador to hand him over, or marches in there with Obama and a squad of troops to take him out. Asking someone to do something isn't really scandalous, is it?

"On record" usually means that there's a physical record which serves as an evidence.

Without it, it's Hillary's word vs an "unnamed source", and seeing just how many baseless lies are getting spread about Clinton by "unnamed sources"...
