If Fahrenthold doesn't get a Pulitzer prize this year the award means nothing.

No surprise that he is using the 'charity' as his personal bank, or was at the time, we don't know if he is still treating it as such right now.

Oh god, I saw someone talk about wishing we had Mitt Romney again, and Armok help me... I can't think of a reason it is wrong.

As awful as he seemed at the time, holy shit, at least he wasn't a self-contradicting whackjob talking about the election being fraudulent less than a month before it was over.
What'll be interesting is to see whether in four years we think the next candidate is even worse, and four years after that, and four years after that, or if we'll be saying "at least it isn't Trump".

Short of David Duke burning the spiritual Reichstag and sucking the divinity from Paul Ryan's chesthole, I can't imagine someone more odious than Trump making center stage.

Not now. But I do wonder how often people have thought that in the past. People always paint the current opposing candidate as the worst to date. I'm curious to see if Trump will remain that beyond the next election cycle.

That's not true, neither Romney nor McCain were popularly considered worse than Bush, except perhaps by uninformed middle school students parroting second-hand info.

It's only a matter of time until we hear right-wing pundits wistfully reminiscing on the days of fat and plenty under Obummer's negligence, before the dawning of Clinton's Socialist Nightmare Land.

First election I paid attention to was Bush vs Gore in 2000...

2004 was worse.  Not because the candidates were actually worse, but because I couldn't believe Bush got fucking re-elected.
2008 was how the fuck does someone like Palin have a career in politics at all, no less being a vice presidential candidate.  I don't even remember much about McCain, because she was too bizarre.
2012 was Romney is the slimiest motherfucker I've ever seen in my life.  It was like watching Wormtongue run for president.
2016 is Trump.  And if Romney was slime, Trump is napalm.  I can't imagine a worse major party presidential candidate, but I've been proven wrong 3 times in a row now.
2020 I can only guess will be a perpetually drunk guy with a confederate flag baseball cap and a monkey Obama t-shirt, who never leaves his motorized scooter with a mounted gun turret.  At debates, he literally just screams, and waves his gun turret back and forth at people.

That's not true, neither Romney nor McCain were popularly considered worse than Bush, except perhaps by uninformed middle school students parroting second-hand info.

Maybe not McCain, but Romney was pretty intensely reviled.  He didn't put off stupid like Bush or Palin, or shock value like Trump.  That's because he had no personality at all, but his history was nothing but corporate fuckery.  So when you watched him speak, you knew this, and the way it subtly rolled off of his persona made you feel like the Koch Brothers were slowly drooling into your ears.

Romney was actually the turning point for several conservatives I know, when they decidedly abandoned the republican party and labeled themselves libertarian instead.

I forgot, was it known already that there never were WMDs in Iraq when he got re-elected?
I mean, how much more serious would you like your mess-up to be? He got more Americans killed than 9/11 did.

Probably the best least bad possible outcome of this would be when the perpetrators are found to be angry raped women. They'll be forgiven by everyone.

No, that doesn't always happen. While indeed you sometimes get the irrational support in cases like this, I wouldn't be banked.

The BEST possible outcome is that they found out Trump set this up on himself :P

Maybe if you're counting those still in office, yes. Theres quite a few of those who aren't in office or running for office or don't have a job that depends on endorsing the party candidate who have disavowed the candidate.
"There are five living presidents, and none of them support Trump" is either the clincher or the kind of thing you ignore. Given that in those five are both Bushes...  (And I'd be willing to bet Zombie Reagan is straining at his coffin-lid, desperately trying to add to that consensus...)

Somebody set us up the firebomb? WHAT YOU SAY??

And no, an isolated incident of late-night vandalism does not a civil war make. If this had been a broad daylight attack, with the intent to kill people as well as destroy property, we'd be a little closer.

Frankly I'm more worried about the prospect of hundreds or thousands of frenzied Trump supporters showing up in inner-city Philadelphia and Chicago screaming "FRAUD!" and intimidating the shit out of people.

Or creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. If these communities have reason to believe some unhinged white people are going to show up and cause trouble, those "New Black Panther" folks might turn out to protect the polling places. Which would be taken by those same unhinged white people as proof positive that the fix is in.

I was already planning to take off from work Election Day and the day after. The bombing just makes me doubly glad I'm doing so.  :-\

Crooked Hillary committed fraud by pushing the election date forward 20 days and not telling Trump.
