Cast the enemy out.

Purity of mind is purity of being.

Cast the enemy out.

Purity of life is purity of thought.

There was at least one lawsuit, from 1997, it's been mentioned before a couple pages back. However, there's no indications how that was concluded, or if it even WAS concluded at all. Seems to me like that one just sort of was up and abandoned without actual conclusion like it got dropped or negotiated out of court or something.

Alienating wrongthinkers is something conservatives do, we're supposed to be better than that.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Really?  Okay.  Who came up with all these "decency" laws, forced religious iconography onto our money and pledge and schools, and is doing a damn good job at tearing down net neutrality?
Who said that "You're with us or against us?"  And backed that up with mob violence?

What have the Democrats done to destroy free speech?
Complaining about hateful demagogues isn't CENSORING them, it's complaining.
And confused regressives, largely minors, don't represent us either.

Socialist governments clamped down on free speech, sure, but so did the fascists.  We liberals aren't responsible for any of that, particularly since we're basically "moderate" compared to the rest of the civilized world.

Donald Trump hasn't been legally convicted (and probably never will be because he has an expensive legal team) but it's clear that, factually, he has committed a string of sex attacks. He confessed to doing it and has been accused by many independent victims.

Hasn't the religious iconography on money been there for a really long time? Like 150 years at least? Doesn't seem like you can pin that one on conservatives.

On coins, granted, but it was added to the money and the pledge around 1957 by conservatives terrified of the red scare.

They rewrote the *pledge of allegiance* and people don't freaking remember.

If you can convince everyone that whatever the thing you're trying to push is a part of tradition, soon enough it will be treated by almost everyone like it was always a part of tradition. It's why historical revisionism is so effective - and so dangerous.

I'm not saying Republicans don't do bad things.

Everyone thinks they're the moderates. How is it that you hold "the right" responsible for their extremist wings while "the left" is blameless?

Everyone thinks they're the moderates.

Many political movements proudly claim to be radical and revolutionary.  Bernie Sanders for instance.

Yet the Klan and Stormfronters represent "the right?"

The presidential nominee of the right represents the right pretty well.  Especially since other republican politicians face massive backlash if they cross him.

@baffler: How even are the Klan and Stormfront left wing? Left wing radicals are generally more of the socialist type, at least that's the definition in wikipedia.

I dont think he is saying they are left, I think he is putting the words in Rolan's mouth that all republicans are KKK members.

Which is ridiculous.  Some of them are good people.

The argument that the Left are the modern defenders of freedom of speech is kind of laughable as well. Protip: neither party gives more than lip service to the Constitution.
