Nobody thinks toddlers are evil.

Speak for yourself.

Although yeah, this is just purely a personal thing, although I understand, I think most politicians give off really creepy vibes, although a lot more so in the primary then in the main election (although that might just be because of what they are contrasted again. Obviously even corporate robot creepiness gets overwhelmed by rapey racist grandfather creepiness.)

I read your response as

Sounds like your problem, not mine.
... no, not really. Or not entirely, at the very least. Communication is two way, et al. Culpability for interpretation is primarily on the recipient, but not exclusively so. Unfortunately. Philosophy writing would be much easier if you could just blame the reader for everything :V

I know that it is petty to bring up...

But Bernie's biggest weakness as a candidate IMO...

Is that he looks stereotypically evil... Like he is a villain or something up to no good.

Is that just because when some people hear socialist, they automatically think 'DIRTY COMMIE!'?

Maybe it is just this picture of him that gives me the "EVIL! he is the villain! Don't need to read anymore of the investigation he did it!"

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

That pic makes him look like Dick Cheney.

I mean how would you feel if I said "hey, let's just tell anyone who isn't in a political party that they can STFU and wont be a part of future elections.  They're all morons anyway and that should fix our problems."  Would you carefully pick through the words looking for an argument to respect?  I doubt it.
Not looking to start a fight, but isn't that basically the argument you've made about independents and 3rd partiers? That they should shut the hell up and stay out of the Democrats' way?

Or at least stay out of national politics and worry about stuff like running for dogcatcher. (That part of the argument has some merit, to be fair)

There is a difference between "I want you to read between the lines in this philosophic text" and "I didn't ruttin' well say that, gorramit."

Not looking to start a fight, but isn't that basically the argument you've made about independents and 3rd partiers? That they should shut the hell up and stay out of the Democrats' way?

The opposite actually.  We need more voters.  We need more organization.  We need more involvement.

could someone please explain to me in simple english how any part of bernie's plan was going to go through the legislative body
i didn't really follow him until after he lost the primary, so i have only heard the more radical end
I think the idea was that if he actually managed to make it to the presidency then he would be able to wager the power of the "movement" that put him there against the senate/house, sort of a "send in letters to your congressmen and bury them in enough support that they have to agree or suffer severe backlash as a result" method. Barring that he could wager the resistance to his ideas to work towards implementing change in who was elected to the senate/house and potentially start changing the composition of those bodies.

As it was he still managed to pretty much accomplish his real major goal with his run, which was to begin debate about his particular set of issues and force changes in the democratic platform towards them, which he accomplished on a large number of counts.

Ok, well... I've re-read this several times, and I'm not getting anything out of this other than "Your complaining is stupid, because you're not doing anything".  I'm not going to get into a flame war over it.  But I feel pretty comfortable with my interpretation as to why you somewhat harshly dug into someone over a throwaway post.

How about instead of bitching ever four years and acting like that makes you special you put in a fraction of the work that the people you bitch about put in?  The last time we had a new political party succeed it was because people who spent decades of work advocating and sometimes even dying for a cause eventually convinced a majority of their countrymen that it was right.

You want electoral reform?  That's nice.  So do I.  Who gives a shit?  Seriously.  Name a single goddamn person in the world who thinks "Well this person cares about something but wont do anything to make it happen so I'll put in all the effort for them".  It doesn't make you special.  It doesn't make you better.  It just makes you whiny to bitch about this and put in zero effort to improve anything whatsoever.

Goodness is Trump's latest quote... really questionable.

Where that if his Daughter was sexually harassed that she would go to another company or career.

Which in context of what the conversation is "She should leave instead of seeking legal alternatives"

But what he COULD mean is: "She should get out of the toxic environment"

But coupled with his other quotes... >_<

Trump... MAN... owww... Honestly Trump you give enough info that if I wanted to read into it... I can pull out such alarming diatribe... I won't do so but DAAANG!

It is months old, yeah, though the whole revelations puts it into an entirely new perspective.

I'm not seeing it.  He looks like you overlayed the faces of a grandfather and a toddler whose teeth just came in.  Nobody thinks toddlers are evil.
Spoken like a man who has never raised children.

I have a wonderful villain beard, that guy looks like a mid-level boss at most, misguided government patsy more likely.

Vote for me, I promise to do awful things with the powers granted to me, but only to really awful people, isn't it about time you tried electing a villain who didn't lie about it?

Oh god I should probably register and stuff...
