Politicians from the major parties have been selling that "outside the Beltway" shit for years. I think Trump is the first one to live up to it. Also possibly "outside reality." And for better or worse, that's enough for people who think the best way to reform the Federal Government is to burn half of it down.

I think they'll be disappointed though. Trump has given every indication he's ready to be led around by the nose were he to become president. He doesn't really want to make decisions. He just wants to take credit for them.

Also, mainiac, people distrusted Clinton well before this election.

Idk if they do polls on trust but that sure as hell isn't true for approval.

We'll move out as soon as you give Australia back to the aborigines, heh.

Diplomacy flows from the barrel of a gun.

Not like the native Americans didn't try to stop my ancestors.  I don't feel guilty over ancient land wars...  The NA and the Europeans both did it.  It's kinda condescending that so many new agers like my mother pretend otherwise.

Edit:  Why do you think America is so worried about foreign threats?  Not like any grand unifying council is going to rush to the rescue, except for the alliances we forged with effort, blood and money.

On the other hand, I think only Immigrants and the children of recent immigrants should get citizenship. The fact that this includes me by technicality is just a price everyone else will have to pay.

Meh...I'd be willing to bet more jobs have been "stolen" by people who never left their home countries than have been by illegal immigrants. Just harder to get riled up by folks you never see.

I've had my job offshore to India three times in my career so far. I have never lost my job to an immigrant. Albeit, blue-collar and white-collar jobs are drastically different in that respect. Though even blue collar jobs vary by industry.

If you're a chicken plucker or dishwasher, you're at risk of losing out to illegal immigrants.
If you're a textile worker or furniture mill worker, you're probably going to lose your job to offshoring.

All told, I think offshoring has a far more deleterious effect on American workers than hiring under the tables.

Same here, except my jobs were in the IT field, and one was lost to Argentina, two to Mumbai.

Any Americans who think they will have a future career as a coder or network engineer, think again, because there are people halfway around the world who can do the same thing just as well, and are willing to do it for a fraction of the pay.

No, see, it's not Trump that flip flopped.

It was you. It's always been you.

I've literally been told that in more words by a person on /r/asktrumpsupporters.

The groupthink is stronk.

Repeatedly! We keep electing Republicans (which turns it off), and then Democrats (which turns it back on).  :P

I was at the state fair looking at the political parties booths yesterday, I think this is an important consideration that will inform my vote in November. Important comparisons:

Rublicans: I couldn't find their booth, but I found one belonging to "the Constitution party" which I figure sounds close enough. They were selling buttons for two dollars. I'm sure if I wanted to I could find a way to tell others I want to harm people for less then two dollars.

Democrats: Selling buttons for 3 dollars. Greedy socialist fucks.

Green party: Free buttons! BOOM! Jill Stein 2016 here we come.

Mainiac, if you want Hillary to win you should tell her she needs accept more blackmail from corporations, because her ground game is clearly lacking in resources.

I guess they have the goal of reducing the nation to rubble?

How much you can charge for your buttons is market-driven. People are willing to pay more for the Democrat ones. The greens giving away free buttons seems kinda backwards, considering free stuff encourages waste.

For every item supporting the Greens, they should charge enough to save a bald eagle, or something.

For every item supporting the Republican, a puppy gets shot..

Actually, that is kind of fitting -- I picture the local GOP just saying "Fuck it....we're taking this season off."

FYI, the Constitution Party is what you'd get if you took the GOP and added MOAR GOD. They're probably the closest thing we have to a Christian Theocracy party.

The Constitution Party proudly calls itself the "ideological home of the TEA Party, where candidates who are committed to the same constitutional principles as most TEA Party groups can run for office without opposition from within their own party." So it isn't so much a reasonable alternative to the Republican Party, as it is the demon on their left shoulder telling them to light things on fire and expel all the Muslims.

Dammit Redking, beat me by barely a minute.
