The term SJW seems to have expanded a bit, but I've always thought the crux was in the name, "Social Justice Warrior". It's the militancy of the movement that's easy to ridicule, and the word "warrior" fits that absurdity perfectly. Not only that, but it's mostly the affectation of militancy over the internet through outlets that most people don't take seriously in the first place, with excessively hostile behavior. So I wouldn't quite say it's a useless term, or overly nebulous, because the name itself does still adequately describe the phenomenon of seemingly contradictory pseudo-militant progressives.

It is still a pejorative, so any serious discussion needs a more clear definition of terms and specific behaviors. But does using any pejorative unironically make you akin to a bigot? Seems like a stretch, but I don't know, maybe. I can see the logic anyway.

An explosion of an improvised explosive device injured at least 29 people in New York. Mayor de Blasio says it was a deliberate act, but there has been no evidence of terrorism yet. The police rules out a gas explosion. Near the explosion site, police found a second, not exploded bomb, which was kinda like the steamcooker bomb used in the Boston marathon bombings.

None of the injured are in mortal danger, according to the police.

Hey, not my words. It's what the mayor said, or at least, it's what my newspaper said the mayor said. It's quite possible that the mayor gave that statement beore the police found the second bomb or anyone really knew what happened. Press never can wait to get a first reaction of officials, preferably when those are not informed yet themselves.

I think they meant it was homegrown if anything, another forum I go to had someone pop up and report the explosion before the news even heard about it, said it shook the whole floor of his building cause he was just down the street, and had apparently walked past where the second was found earlier yesterday.

In St. CLoud, a man stabbed 8 people in a mall yesterday. According to police sources, the man was wearing a security uniform, and asked people if they were muslim, before stabbing them and shouting something about Allah.

A police officer who happened to be at the scene managed to shoot the man dead before he could stab any more people.

None of the injured are in critical condition. Only one is still in hospital.
