The election is so over the top but right now the leader on 538s projections is the same as 2012 in 49 states and the same as 2008 in 49 states.  Our political system is quite amazing when it comes to assimilating things and making them normal.

I think humanity in general is amazing at adapting to just about anything, accepting it as normal, and forgetting that things were ever different.  The only times we usually don't seem to be in personal relationships, and immediate threats to our physical well-being.t

I like to think our subconscient never quite got the memo that we're not hunter-gatherer anymore. Your brain thinks 'fuck, things will suck!' but your inconscient is still going ' Yiss! One more day not being eaten by lions!'

The Neolithic revolution was societal, not evolutionary, humans can still do everything those early hunter-gatherers did, because we haven't changed as an organism at all.
Well, some of the skills need to be retained, as do others at least for anthropological interests, but yeah, capabilities are still roughly the same for individuals.

I think sheb means Obama's approval margin in the 08-12 period in relation to Trump's current approval rates, or maybe in regards to Hillary's current approval rates? He dinnae specify. I'd assume It'd be even larger, though.

The brain is the most adaptive organ in the body. That's a significant portion of it's job, in fact (coordination being the largest), so it shouldn't be too surprising that we adapt well to hardship and strange circumstances if allowed to.

Complaining doesn't actually get you a meal, after all. :P

That said, I'm not sure what it would take for this election to get more incredulous. Maybe if we found out that Trump's part of the Free Masons and Clinton's a member of the Illuminati or something?

I dont think anyone did exit polling on 18-24 (because it wasn't considered important and it's hard to target that group) in 2012 but we can compare with the usual age brackets.

2012: http://elections.nytimes.com/2012/results/president/exit-polls
18-29: 60-37
30-44 52-45
45-64: 47-51
65+: 44-56

2016: http://www.people-press.org/2016/07/07/2-voter-general-election-preferences/
18-29: 60-30
30-44: 52-39
45-64: 49-46
65+: 46-49

Swing:
18-29: Dems +7
30-44: Dems +6
45-64: Dems +7
65+: Dems +9

So it's actually a pretty consistent swing across all demographics.

Trump is calling for 6 weeks of paid maternity leave if it isn't offered by employers, as well as tax rebates for families with young children. He might even have a plan to pay for it!

Oh god, it keeps getting better and better.

I don't think declaring war on Pepe is going to help Robo-Hillary with those under 30 voters Mainiac was talking about.
I knew Niges mandate to legalize all memes was worth it

Hillary's anti-pepe stance will destroy her campaign, meme magiks will drown her in a thousand plagues of REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
