Trump with a majority in the Senate, in the House, with multiple Supreme Court appointments. The RNC couldn't keep him from stealing their primary.

He's going to have carte blanche to do whatever he wants. Keep that in mind.

This is, without a doubt, the most interesting timeline.

538 just updated to 49% vs 49%...

(And the California juggernaut just went blue, according to BBC...  Thought it best to use two different feeds with two different methods... All it's doing is making me worried ¾ of the time, but at least it's more comforting to get that sorted...)

You know... I kind of wanted Trump to win to sort of teach the USA a lesson... I mean HECK the USA now knows EXACTLY how ingrained its racism and sexism is, it is the rudest awakening I think the USA has had in a long time to find out that racism and sexism wasn't on its way out but rather incredibly ingrained and fully alive.

Yet... Goodness now that it is actually happening... I would never want to force it on anyone.

Just the fact of what a Trump victory represents alone...

No but srs, I wish there was a king to rein in the worse of his possible excesses. That would go for both, certainly, but I doubt Hillary will be able to do very much in this climate, should she win.

They weren't "rigged". Just incredibly biased against Bernie, with collusion between the Clinton Campaign and the media at every turn. The DNC, which is supposedly a non-partisan organization, pulled out all the stops to elect Hillary Clinton.

A Trump victory is great news for progressives, really. It's the end of an era: centrist, establishment policy doesn't cut it anymore. In a battle between unbridled populist rhetoric and focus-tested party-line corporatist ideology, the populist wins: even if he's an orange buffoon.

Maybe a real left-wing party will rise from these ashes.
