"Well that's... unexpected. Do we have any word on what's to happen next?"

"Quite. In modern times this place is a horrid backwater in terms of the magical arts, but it seems at least some of the stories are true. It's a pity how much knowledge the Overseaslanders must have abandoned in their history."

[Criptfeind]

"Ahhh, unfortunately not. There was a shop selling some magical tomes that me and Shae went too, but unfortunately the selection wasn't too impressive." Gregory grimaces "Not to mention that damn Torriani pawned off a worthless stone onto me for funds, claiming it was a gemstone. Humiliation at the jewelers shop aside, it means our budget is a lot tighter then I had hoped it would be. I figure I can get by on my flux tome so we can afford better stuff for the rest."

[Chevaleresse]

"Ideally, you won't need another tome at all, though that may be optimism bordering on foolishness."

[Gaterhyme]

"Better to plan for the worst than to be caught unprepared."

Suzanne had made her excuses and left the apothecary to seek Gregory - and had found him (and Siegfried, though she had no more to say to him this time around) almost immediately.

"Captain. You still retain the majority of the funds, correct?"

[Criptfeind]

"Ahh! Yes I do M... Lieutenant Vogt." Gregory said, offering an uncertain grin. "Although a not insubstantial amount has been spent in various ways, and it turns out the 'gem' that we were give for further funds is almost wholly worthless, so our funds are more constrained then previously assumed. However, despite all that, yes, I still have quite a bit left. What do you need?"

[Chevaleresse]

Siegfried nods politely at the Lieutenant's arrival, but says nothing.

[Gaterhyme]

"Good."

"I'll likely require funds enough to purchase lockpicks or keys, but that can wait. I trust you've been keeping track of what is being spent so as not to encourage purchasing frivolities."

With that, she fell silent and indicated that he lead the way whenever he decided to move on.

[Criptfeind]

Gregory hesitates for a moment and then nods, walking forward.

"I've already scoped out a magical focused shop, their wares were... Acceptable I suppose, given the location, although I was hoping for something more exotic. Unfortunately it seems like such things are not easily found within Blumhart. Disappointing, not fully unexpected. I've decided to go without anything to help myself unless we manage to find someplace selling something really special, so I suppose that'll make sure we have plenty of money for whatever it is of importance that others find so long as it's not too much. Like, lockpicks can't cost that much I'm sure, so it should be easy to afford those for you..."

Gregory paused as he moved down the street.

"Do you want to lead the way to wherever you found such things for sale? I do not have any place in particular in mind to where to go myself, I'm simply trying to make sure that I'm available for anyone else, and gather up those who have finished with their shopping."

[Gaterhyme]

"Like, lockpicks can't cost that much I'm sure, so it should be easy to afford those for you..."

"You'd be surprised."

She looked Gregory up and down. Up, to his messy hair and boyish face. And down again, to his relatively bright red robes.

"No disrespect intended, but I'd rather not have you arouse suspicion there. Certain merchants enjoy their privacy. I can retrieve what I need when the time comes."

[GiglameshDespair]

"Iris gave me this." She pulled out the remains of the angel cloth delicately, and placed the box on the table. "What remains of the cloth. I had a look at them, and there's not really much enchantment left. Apparently they pretty much disintegrated when the magic was transferred."

[Swordstar]

Iris had picked up one of the ornate swords as Shae walked in. Glancing over at her, she sighed and put the weapon back down.

"Ah, Shae, hello. Did you find anything good? This sword is beautiful and perfectly balanced, but... I suspect it might be a bit more expensive than we should be paying right now. I guess I'll have to stick with one of the les expensive weapons, even if it's not quite right."

"If you feel the weapon is worth it's asking price, we can weigh the possibility against other purchases." Shaelynn said, retrieving her freshly purchased tome. "I've already procured myself additional armament."

[Swordstar]

Iris picked up the sword again, showing Shae the ornately decorated blade with a narrowed tip that was lightweight but deadly sharp. Placing it down again, she took a few steps away from the merchant and quietly whispered to Shae so he couldn't hear her words, she explained,

"This... This weapon is made to kill heavily armored foes. So those on horses or the heavily armored knights you might see filling the ranks of our army. It's easily the best weapon I'll see for the foreseeable future, but I'm just not sure I need it with how expensive it is."

The bows were definitely of good quality. He'd have to come back here when he had some more money of his own. Unfortunately, this job would require otherwise. With a heavy sigh, Jann returned to the Reich Manufacture.
