"It sounds like, as terrible as this whole situation is, that this I'd what you needed. A chance to prove yourself for who you are and what you can do. As for loving others in uour family,  ok and? So what? You've met Flora. Do you really think most people treat her like they treat me? You're a different person than your brother and mother. Perhaps you present an easier target given Your unfortunate situation. Perhaps they simply are jealous of you but not the others for whatever reason. You can't let them force you away from you. So use the opportunity you've been given. Prove all of them wrong by showing all you can do and accomplish."

[Haspen]

"Well, Captain Astleich have died while trying to apprehend an apparently important figure of a certain... movement to cause a schism between the Reich and the Overseasland..." His voice trailed off as he began to read the letter.

After about half a minute, he drew in a whistling breath of anger.

"I'm being placed under house arrest!? For what reason!?" He then read rest of the letter instead waiting for the answer.

"And Torriani is to take my place as interim Governor! This is ridiculous. Have you seen him yet, lass?"

"You're right. I'm the daughter of the Governor General, and my own talents aren't worthless. I'll find the threats to the Reich, and bring them to heel with my own hands!" Shaelynn chuckled darkly. "And when I have my own staff, I can take greater care in hiring a better class of person." She turned her gaze upon Iris for the first time since she'd been in the dining hall. Here eyes were still red from the tears, but they also held the determined strength characteristic of Shaelynn. "Thank you for your support. Iris, I want you to know that henceforward, I count you as one of my friends. Is that alright?"

[Gaterhyme]

She seemed taken aback by the news of the Captain's death - but only for a moment. In the next, the Governor General and his anger held all of her attention. He could snap her like a twig.

And yet.

"I have not. But the Captain is dead?" She glanced down at the remaining papers in her grip. Considering. Calculating. "This changes things, then."

[Haspen]

"Yes, he is." The man placed his hand on the mantelpiece of the firepit and took a deep breath.

"Four of his original team are seated at the table, pass your orders to them." He added after a while.

[Criptfeind]

Gregory was only momentarily surprised that the governor was arrested, considering what had happened and why they were here in the first place, it made sense.

Standing up from his seat once again he took a few steps forward. Grimace on his face. He looked back to the other three of the original team, hoping that they would be ready for whatever was about to happen. If the governor was part of this plot things could turn very ugly very fast.

"Ah, thank you. I... It has been a while since I have had a true friend. I am glad to call you my friend as well. Though if you are up to it, we should perhaps return to the others soon. I believe they were planning on getting some sort of shopping trip going."

[Gaterhyme]

Her eyes locked onto Gregory again as he was the first to move towards her. Her hands were steady on the sheaf of papers.

"If the rest of the four would care to identify themselves, that would be appreciated."

"Really? Before the investigator arrives? A curious choice. I think I'll take a moment to clean up before returning to the others though." Shaelynn then left for a washroom.

[Haspen]

To raise the moment of drama, Shaelynn, on her way to washroom, was passed by a sobbing maid and a nervous servant who quickly hid in a room.

Suspicious!

Shaelynn stopped to watch the maid and servant flee before continuing to the washroom, and cleaning her face. What could that have been about? Were they fired? But I don't know that I've seen those two together. Or really any real reason they would be let go. Shaelynn finished cleaning her face and returned to the dining hall and its ice cold atmosphere.

Shaelynn first took note of her father leaning against the mantel. "Father? Are you alright?"

[Haspen]

"This nice lady brought orders that place me under house arrest and pass my authority onto Torriani, Shaelynn." The governor spoke with unhappy voice.

"Only temporarily, of course." He forced himself to smile and give his daughter a pat on the head.

To raise the moment of drama, Shaelynn, on her way to washroom, was passed by a sobbing maid and a nervous servant who quickly hid in a room.

Suspicious!

Iris had been following after Shae but diverted her path while waving the other girl on. Quietly following after the maid, she stayed just close enough to be in ear shot while pretending to be looking for something.

[Haspen]

The maid wasn't that dumb and noticed Iris - or rather a girl in Reich uniform.

"Damned Reichmen you always ruin everything! Boohooo hoooooo~!!" And then she ran away bawling her eyes out even more.

[Mopsy]

Arnold rises and moves up beside Gregory.
"I'm Arnold Weissmuller, combat medic of the 81st Infantry, subsequently attached to the late Captain Astleich's investigation."
