"Please refrain from stating any state secrets girl." Altha grumbled at hearing the conversation taking place next to her. She watched with a disinterested look on her face as the blonde ones started organizing a run.

"I have to say, I did not expect the investigators to be such a ...energetic bunch." she muttered.

It's a state secret then? Interesting... "Of the actual investigative team, Arnold is the only... Eccentric one. Cecil and Alissa assisted us previously, but they aren't here in an official capacity." Shaelynn approached Altha, and gently inclined her head. "I don't believe we've been introduced. My name is Shaelynn Peritz."

[Mopsy]

"I understand that you carry a heavy burden, Siegfried. And we can't have Gregory trip on his vestments and get a concussion."

Arnold was delighted when Alissa and Cecil offered to join the race.
"Excellent! Of course I don't mind! We'll start from the edge of the paving here and run clockwise. Could you be our referee, Gregory? Just count down from three."

Jann just crossed his arms and stood aside underneath a tree, keeping a small distance from the runners.

[Chevaleresse]

"Hah, you wouldn't be wrong, though if I am to be honest it is not as encumbering as it might look."

Siegfried notices the hunter off to the side. "So, Jann, are you sticking around a while longer, then? I would think that you would have left as soon as that riot dispersed."

[CrimsonEon]

: "I said I would hold the Chief Advisor to his words. Unlike some, I don't break promises."

[Chevaleresse]

"I see. I've always heard it said that a man is only as good as his word . . . I sincerely hope Chief Advisor is a good man." He shakes his head. "I do hope that you can believe that not all of us are untrustworthy."

[Mopsy]

"Sure Arnold" Gregory said nodding, before holding up his hand "One... two... three!" He called, swinging his hand down to start the race.

 Gregory watched the runners takes off for a moment before turning back to the group of men chatting about the Chief adviser. "I'm sure he will come though. After all, even the worst administrator would have to do something when his people start getting slaughtered on mass."

[Mopsy]

On Gregory's signal, Arnold set off at a brisk pace, without pushing himself.
Can I win this? I figure that the girl is pretty quick, but I'm not sure how well the horseman will be doing without his horse. Perhaps they really have been running from monsters...

I wonder what they are about, together and individually. I'm not always sure what I'm about.

Alissa doesn't start much later than Arnold, herself going quickly. While she is decently fast herself, the fact her clothes probably weigh less than those of the more armored men probably does help a bit.

Cecil starts just after Alissa, lagging not far behind. Though the armor is heavy, he compensates with his good constitution and athletic body.

Jann shrugged.
: "I'll figure that out one way or the other over time. Until then, you're all strangers to me."

[Mopsy]

Looks like I figured right. And Cecil isn't dragging his feet, either. Let's see if they are fighters.
Having rounded the south-west corner of the compound, Arnold accelerates, approaching his maximum sustained running speed in an attempt to overtake the other two runners.

"Fair enough, I suppose."
