Shaelynn's heart sank a little when she heard that their only recourse was to dip into her wedding funds. Well, I suppose it isn't as though I'll be married in the near future. The stability of the Overseasland takes precedence.

After few lenghty minutes, Claus Peritz returned with the servants carrying a large coffer.

Then they began to count money, into a smaller coffer, which was then placed in Gregory's hands.

"There. Coins and items of amounting to 5000 Reichmarks. I think that will suffice."

Gregory was slightly surprised when he was offered the coffer to keep track of. Conflict passed across his face, he wasn't sure if accepting this could be counted as taking a bribe from a prime suspect.... Or, rather if his circumstances were desperate enough to take a bribe from a prime suspect. Deciding the answer could very well be yes, he accepted the coffer, offering a stiff grin to the large man.

"Thank you. I'm sure these resources will go to good use in finding the culprits behind these events. No matter who they may be." he said before turning to the others in the room. "I'm going to go tell Torriani of the change of circumstances, afterwards I'd like for us to find the tools and weapons we will need and then set off for the investigation." Gregory concluded before heading out and to Torrianis offices.

Before Greg could notice, he was let into Torriani's office. He was sitting behind his desk.

"Ah, it's you. Siegfried, right? What is it? I didn't expect only one of you to ask to see me... aren't you operating as a group?"

[Criptfeind]

"Gregory Zecklin actually. And yes, we are working as a group. However, time is of the essence I felt I needed to quickly inform you of several changes in circumstances. Primarily that the Governor General has been placed under house arrest, and you are to take his place as interim Governor for the time being." Gregory paused for a moment to let the news sink in. "In addition with the death of captain Astleich I have been promoted to acting captain. Certain information regarding a possible lead in the case has come up, and we are intending to follow up this lead post haste. Furthermore, since you are now the interim governor, I have come to request funds for our investigation, as our resources are woefully low for the task ahead."

[Haspen]

Torriani blinked few times, processing the information.

"Ah, I see... indeed. Yes, I shall fulfill my role as interim Governor to the best of my abilities. As for the funds, alas, we have a tight budget and I couldn't dispense anything unless I had to meet with the Treasurer and few others to agree on the sum we would be willing to give you." He thought for a while, then opened the drawer in his desk and took something from inside.

Then, he placed a small, opaque, blue-green gem on the desk.

"I had this gemstone for a while but couldn't decide what to do with it. Take it, I'm sure you will score major profits if you sell it to the right buyer."

Gregory bows his head as he accepts the gem "Thank you sir. I'm sure that it will be I'm sure you are correct. Good luck with your new appointment. If you will excuse me then." He says, and if there is nothing else from Torriani, he turns and takes his leave of the interim Governers office, heading back to the rest of the group.

He said nothing else.

Thus a mad rush to the market and subsequent shopping fever could finally begin. Can the foreigners find all the shoppes in this huge capital city of exotic distant land!?

They should definitely at least try.

"Torriani has supplied us, hopefully at least, some some funds as well, in the form of a gemstone. Hopefully this will allow us to procure the supplies we need. Anyone who's still intending to be part of the investigation, which I'm hoping is all of you... Lets look around town and see what we can find." Gregory said to the rest of the group.

Shopping time! And also to try to find a place to sell the gemstone.

Gregory easily found a jeweller's workshop.

Inside, besides bazillion of pieces of golden, copper, silver, platinum and electrum jewellery, adorned with gemstones of all colors and sizes and shapes, there were also 6 Reich-uniformed men and a scrawny-looking man with a goatee behind the counter.

"Greetings from Ossenbachim and his family workshop! How can I help you young man? Looking for a gift for a girlfriend? A wedding ring perhaps, mm?"

Gregory nods to the men in Reich uniforms as he walks up to the counter, rummaging around in his pockets for the gem.

"Ah hah, not today. No, today I'm looking to sell." Gregory says with a grin as he takes out the gemstone and shows it to the man. "If you are interested in buying of course."

Siegfried looks for a blacksmith or huntsman's shop of some variety.

After finishing her stew, Suzanne goes to look for a locksmith. Failing that, perhaps a general store will do.
