"I thought I heard something. Which struck me as being odd. Iris was closer to the... entrance we found, and she reported nothing inside but a casket. I was curious."

Shaelynn raised a hand to wave back to Alissa in kind.

"I was hoping to ask about that as well. I didn't see anything when we destroyed that wall, but I thought perhaps you had? Though it may have just been that skeleton people said you all encountered.

"I am forced to assume that the skeleton emerged after we... disturbed his chambers and left. It was startling to encounter it to say the least."

"Indeed, we heard your scream. If there were not several enemies in front of us, we would have come help but... Thankfully you were able to defeat it without any serious injuries. Though speaking of injuries, Jann, why haven't you allowed someone to heal your arm?"

Jann shrugged.
: "It sustained some complex fractures when I tried to deflect a couple rocks away from the one mage... Altha, I think she said her name was." He turned his left hand over to look at it, "This is my aiming arm. The splints can probably go by now, thanks to some herbal remedies. But if it's not needed for fighting, I'd rather let it heal naturally."

At the mention of the skeleton, Cecil breaks out into song and dance, singing 'Spooky Scary Skeletons' at the top of his voice starts writing something again.

"Jann, you're refusing treatment? Whatever for?"

: "As practical as healing magic is for quick recovery on the battlefield, I'd rather not have staff foci go to waste when some herbal supplements and a couple days' rest can suffice."
Slipping his hand out of its splint, he briefly flexed it and then rubbed his chin.
: "Has it ever occurred to you how those are made? I may not know the exacts, but common sense says a lot of energy has to go into each one. More than the few day's worth of meals needed to recover normally, I'd say."
: "Point is, human bodies are resilient. What's wrong with relying on that once in a while?"

"I suppose I see your point. But at the same time, our position is not currently what I would consider stable. The decision is yours, but I would counsel you to seek a hastened recovery. We can't be too careful."

: "I still have my axe arm, and I don't think I'll need to pick up a bow given how many casters we have. I think that'll be enough for now."

"Well, I was interested in hearing what he had told you about his time in Overseasland. Partially to learn more about this place but also out of simple curiosity. My own father served here for several years, you see, and it might've been interesting to compare their experiences."

"I suppose it could be interesting."

"Very well then. I suppose that if you are certain, then that is the end of the discussion." Suddenly, Shaelynn's stomach made a terrible noise.

"Oh. I suppose I haven't eaten properly in a few days now..."

"Yes, it's important to eat and regain your strrength. Here, these should help."

Flora walked over to hand Shae a handful of rather noxious smelling herbs.

"Just sprinkle these in your food and you'll be right as rain. Don't worry, they don't smell as bad as they taste.."

The color drained out of Shaelynn's face as she gently pushed Flora's hand away. "I think I'll decline for the moment. I'm sure I'll be just fine after a light meal. What is it that you're all eating?"

[Mopsy]

Arnold approaches Flora and Shaelynn. He briefly examines the herbs.
"Hmm, I'm not familiar with these. The smell is, well, peculiar. Do they strengthen the blood?"

"What is it that you're all eating?"

"Vegetable soup and bread. Not bad at all, if you ask me. Would you like me to get you some, Miss Peritz?"
