Alissa is in a bad mood, but not as bad as one might expect, really. On the one hand, obvious reasons would have her down. But on the other, while they'd been healing her for her comparatively small injuries- compared to those at the epicenter- they'd gotten rid of a leg ache that had been plaguing her for a month and she was pretty sure she could properly dance again. Regardless, she begins to eat her soup quietly.
Cecil is in the chair next to her, writing down something. He seems relieved, now that Alissa's okay.
Alissa of course notices this.

"I told you I was fine yesterday. Really, I'm the one that should be worried, you were way closer to the explosion than I was."

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

"I was also wearing armor. I'm just glad you're okay, alright?"

The man let out a hum and then looked at his daughter.

"It's under the bed, in a box."

Without waiting even a moment, Shaelynn knelt down and reached for the box beneath the bed. Inside the box was not only the tome, but also the belt and pouch Shaelynn had requested made for her to secure it to her body.

"Well, do we have any plans of action? Are we just going to wait for something to happen and then follow the trail?" Shaelynn asked as she tied the belt around her waist. "Or wait for our information network to turn something up?"

It was all a dream. He could perceive their patterns rushing forward, shapes constantly reforming as they moved. Folded wings of jade. Interlocking angular spirals. Glimmering battlements. Gushingly exuberant fountains. He could perceive what they were trying to escape from. That singular mechanical shriek, raising thunderous echoes as it tore its way through the lattice. A large echo caught up with one of the fleeing patterns and he watched it shatter and dissipate. Now it was his turn. His outer form, reminiscent of a leaping mountain goat, rolled up to protect itself, but his ticking, revolving core welcomed the pulse as it hit, responding with a beacon of unblinking red light.

Where am I now? I'm floating... ...!

Arnold threw his eyes wide open. Float is something that dead people do! He grabbed his chest, and yes, he still had a body.
Not dead, of course. Just a little blood and an uncomplicated fracture that healed splendidly. Nothing worse than that time I fell off the east face of the Kaiserspitze. But why am I floating? ...wait, I can feel it. It's the Vril streams that are twirling around me and lifting me up. The instructor showed us and we all giggled. I didn't expect it to happen on its own, though. Let's see...

He removed his blanket, focused and made the streams bunch up at shoulder height. Slowly, he rose upright, letting the bunched streams slide downward until they formed a swirling platform under his feet.
Alright! That was easy. I really do sense the streams more clearly now. Time to go!

Arnold floats off his bed, out of the room and toward the dining hall. Healing always made him hungry.
"Good morning, everyone! Any news?"

"Both, from lack of better options, dear. Plus I hope that the new investigator will arrive in just few more days from now."

Gregory looks up from his book, an ancient tomb he had managed to scavenge from a library somewhere and was reading intently though the recovery process. His eyebrows raised in surprise as he saw Arnold floating into the room. He offered a weary smile to the strange sight after a moment.

"I see you've picked up a new trick Arnold... And I've not heard anything. I  Hope she'll be up soon though."

Friderick sat quietly at his chair, staring into his bowl. Images of the captain, crushed, still fresh in his memory.
"Captain, how could I let this happen? If only I was just a bit faster.."

He continued staring as he answered Arnold's question.
"Morning, Arnold. Afraid I haven't heard anything."

"Floating is easy. I bet you could float, too, if you tried! All you need to do is gather up the strands of Vril around you and let them lift you off the ground."

Arnold turns much less cheerful when he's reminded of Shaelynn.
"She will be fine, physically. Her injuries were treatable, and she's not easily broken. I still feel sorry for her, though. All her efforts have earned her so far is pain and frustration. My concern is that if this continues, it will eventually get to her. Drain her spirit."

After serving himself a large bowl of soup, Arnold sits down between Gregory and Friderick.
"How about you two? You look tired."

"Hello, fellow warriors of justice! How fare thee well today?"
Cecil looks up from the diary he's writing something in, waving at the newcomers.

Siegfried waved a hello to Arnold as he entered, but didn't speak for a moment; the large man's mouth was currently occupied by a slice of bread.

Gregory closes his book and slides it into his overstuffed backpack as Arnold sits down between them ,before leaning forward and resting his elbows on the table and his head in his hands.

"Yeah." He replied, giving a slight nod. "I don't think... I've slept at all since I woke up after the explosion. I'm exhausted. Hopefully we'll have plenty of more time to rest before we do.... Whatever it is we're doing next. I guess without the captain we might be reasigned back to the homeland."

"If you're having trouble sleeping, I could make something to help with that, Gregory."
She moved her spoon around in her bowl, idly.

Arnold turns much less cheerful when he's reminded of Shaelynn.

"I imagine you pitying her would irritate her a lot more that any defeats would."

"Ah hah, well, thanks for the offer, but I'll pass. It's not that I can't sleep, I just don't have time to sleep. Too busy." Gregory replied to Flora, giving her a small grin. "Also I'm sure that Shea is probably mostly unaffected by such feelings ether way... I'd imagine the sting of failure, or at least serious setback, is worse for such a driven woman then what anyone feels about her." Gregory continues, before grinning sheepishly and ducking his head down. "Although I guess I don't know her very well."
