Governor-General let out a sigh.

"You do understand that I can't protect you with my influence if you go around performing secretive or dangerous tasks, right? If something happens, you would have to fend for yourself, and I don't think you are a good fighter... Plus your mother would be furious if something were to happen to you. You see, Shaelynn, you can effectively do either fighting or politics, not both, is why I retired my axe five years ago when I accepted the Senate's mandate..." By that moment they went outside, just as shouts of citizens reached their ears.

"Now what is this unruly gathering about?"

@Upstairs:

"...and thusly, for such worthwile assistance to the state, a true example of teamwork between the Reich and the Overseasland peoples, I would to have you all rewarded with certain amount of gold pieces, say-"

CRASH!! The bits of window flew at Jann, raining down upon his head and back as a rock fell onto the floor.

"What the-!?" Chief Advisor looked through the window and gasped.

"There's a rioting mob outside! Governor has been wounded!"

@Outside, where situation became to grow tense:

The guards pushed the crowd back as Governor-General stood up slowly, touching his head.

"Thank you, Shaelynn... you violent curs, tossing rocks at me!..."

"REICH MURDERERS!"

"HAND US THE ONES RESPONSIBLE FOR ABADO!"

"JUSTICE WILL BE HAD!!"

<sub>"And how in blazes they know already...?"

"GOVERNOR!"</sub> Sevyor, Richard and others went ouside the estate, along with a pair of extra guards.

"You two, take Governor and Miss Shaelynn back inside and find me more men. You travelers go too, this is not a good time for playing witnesses! Captain, I need your help here!"

"We will lend a hand, of course." Meanwhile the two guards helped Governor General into the estate and then went after him.

"MURDERERS!!"

"LEAVE OUR LANDS!!" Chief Advisor grimaced.

"But no weapons! No weapons I say! A single mistake and this whole mess will go beyond fixing!"

Objectives:
Reichsoldiers: Keep the rioting mob away from Chief Advisor and the entrance to the estate.
Overseaslanders: Either leave via western border (Column 1) or try helping defuse the situation.
Shaelynn: Choose between fancy tea parties or hard work for the state.

Extra info: Red sprites with cloaks are Youths, those without are Farmers. You get less EXP from hitting/killing Youths and Farmers than normally.

The axeman, Jann, quickly shielded his head as the window near him crashed wide open, shards of glass deflecting off of his arm.
: "Grh!" After the inital shower of glass, Jann slowly made his way over to the window, seeing the gathering below, "...Of course. A little blood always spooks the herd."
Making his way down to the courtyard with the others, he remained to the rear, assessing the situation from what he could see.
: "Seems like an oil barrel has been lit. Awfully tactful of you to spare them the axe." Jann seemed to aim that last statement at Sevyor and the Captain.

[Chevaleresse]

"Captain, I'm not sure that we will have enough bodies between the crowd and the Chief Advisor if we send these travelers away, though of course they are under no obligation to stay and assist us. I will go forward and reinforce the line."

Unequip Slim Lance, move to 9-6.

He speaks to the crowd, raising up his hands - now free of weapons - as he does so. "Please, citizens, we mean no harm! Attacking us will only harm any hopes of bringing the true culprits to justice!"

Especially not one to shy away from protecting the innocent, Cecil immediately springs to his feet.

"Don't leave me behind! I'll not sit by and let someone innocent of any crime be endangered!"
Move to 9-5, unequip Slim Lance.
Cecil follows Siegfried's lead, raising his hands. He stands with his head held high and as firm a look as he can muster.
"We are not the true enemies of justice! I too hail from these proud lands, and we too wish to bring the murderers and the criminals who slew our brothers to pay for their crimes!"

Light flashed over Shaelynn's head as she shot a deadly look at the mob. How dare they attack her father? Again, she stomped her anger down. Retaliating would be playing into someone's hand. She just didn't know who. "Father, your influence here is already in jeopardy. And not by accident. Someone is trying to destabilize relations between the Reich and the Overseasland. I'll return home to you and mother... But not before I find out who is responsible for this."

6,6, unequip lightning

Shaelynn moved closer to the crowd, though at sufficient distance to remain safe. "Good people, please, lower your arms. You have been deceived! I was in Abado when it was attacked, and these brave soldiers defended the people there as best they could. Please, remain calm."

Jann, looking on as his Troian peer made his loud speech, shook his head.
: "Boastful and colorful plants can conceal deadly poison, grazers like them know that. You're not going to get anywhere without substance."
As Shaelynn made her piece, he nodded.
: "Better."
He continued to glare at the Captain and the Chief Advisor with a skeptical face.

[Mopsy]

"Wonderful. Either our enemies are talented rabble-rousers, or the Reich isn't quite as popular as we were hoping."

Arnold shouts to Friderick and Siegfried over the din of the crowd.
"Try to hold them at the gate! I'll do what I can to keep you standing!"
Arnold moves to (8,6).

[Criptfeind]

Gregory moves forward somewhat nervously. His slim frame and reliance on deadly magical forces clearly don't lend well to a situation like this.

"People please, Abado was a tragedy of the highest order, but it was caused by a bandit attack! I saw it with my own eyes! I fought to save what civilians we could! That's all we want, to help people."

Move to 8,5 unequip Flux

Shaelynn shook her head at Gregory. "No, not bandits. That's what we were meant to think, but those men had an agenda beyond pillaging and murder. And part of that agenda is to turn the people against us."

Rocks flew at Siegfried who was first to speak up.

As the other spoke, the shouting went quieter as the more reasonable heads listened.

"SAVAGES! OCCUPANTS! LEAVE OUR HOMES ALONE!!"

Arnold is so intrigued by Shaelynn's words that he turns his back on the angry mob.
"You think so, too? But who could these people be, who are prepared to slaughter native villagers to make the Reich look bad? It's not what you'd expect from Troian patriots."

Jann shook his head and sighed, again addressing Astleich and Torriani.
: "Awfully quiet, Chief Advisor, Captain. You can't expect your soldiers to fight this battle with words given their position."

"If I knew,  we wouldn't be here." Shaelynn raised her voice again, fighting to be heard. "My father is from the Reich, yes, but my mother is one of you, and I consider myself one of you as well! The people of Abado were killed to cause unrest and distrust. I implore you, believe me when I tell you that we are not your enemy!"

Siegfried simply weathers the attack where he stands, letting his lack of retaliation speak for itself.
