Cecil harrumphs, arms folded. He scoffs defiantly.

"My pride as an Ishim won't be dented by their empty words!"
He turns to Shae, smiling triumphantly.

"Pay their words no heed. They're utterly meaningless and with less wit than a toad soaked in month-old ale."

Gregory rolls his eyes at the comments from the ladies.

"I'm surprised they have the bravery to act so to the daughter of the governor general." He says with a shrug.

Shaelynn did not meet Cecil's gaze. "We leave. Now." Shaelynn's strode out of the city gates, taking the road toward Wyrmpeak.

Cecil, again, is unperturbed, as if he's simply used to this by this point.

"Onward we go, then! To the wilderness!"

Jann glares to the side from the rear of the group as the women and their guard passed by. He notices the the bulk of the group had slowed down to talk to them briefly, but he offered no comment, only an irritated sigh.

As they walked down the road, Gregory turned to Beatrix

"My apologizes, but I think in my haste to get us on a move on, we didn't have time for proper introductions. My name is Gregory Zecklin, soldier of the Reich and acting captain for this investigation." he says, nodding to her and offering his hand.

Siegfried simply seems to be happy that Shaelynn has not decided that he needed to be zapped a few more times at the boyfriend comment.

[F.O.E.]

"I had gathered as much. It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance." Beatrix reached to shake Gregory's hand but hesitated before returning her hand to her side and bowing.

"Forgive me for that slip up, captain."

[Chevaleresse]

Siegfried gestures at Cecil and pulls him to the side a bit. He then speaks, pitching his voice low enough that only Cecil could hear.

_{"I know it hasn't been long, but have you any ideas for that letter?"}

Cecil is yanked across.

_{"Well, maybe you can start by clarifying why you left, right? And then acknowledging you did not think too much about the consequences when you did."}

_{"It was primarily an unwillingness to be a political tool, and marrying a woman I had never met was not appealing besides... The fact that Shaelynn had a reputation did not help, but even I know that it would be a poor idea to mention that. Additionally, I really did want to serve the people of the Reich; that's what the true duty of a noble should be, after all."}

_{"Yeah, so explain that! I have a feeling she might understand if you tell her that her personality wasn't a factor in it. You may also want to compliment her a little. And acknowledge that any assumptions you had about her were wrong."}

Siegfried looks at Cecil for a moment. _{"They, uhm, haven't been, though."}

_{"I do still feel bad for wounding the woman so, though. . . I will keep what you've said into consideration. I don't suppose you would be willing to read the thing after I finish it?"}
