Seattle, UCAS

As the sun slowly drifts downward towards the earth, it's rays manage to penetrate the smog over the Seattle Metroplex to provide some light in the day. Everywhere people are bustling, either downtown or uptown, in the barrens and in the corporate enclaves, returning from work or going to work. But not you. For you, you're having a bit of a lazy Thursday. It's not that you're out of work, some of you even have jobs, but right now it seems that you're caught in the moment between action where everything just holds still. Regardless, you are currently relaxing, but the question is where? Are you at your favorite watering hole, watching Trid in the comfort of your own home, or are you eying the last dying rays of the sun as you think about the things that got you to this point, and where you're going to be going next.

One of the first category would be a mister Adam Bird. Adam was quite the specimen of a man, standing at 6' 2'' and being quite the attractive person, nearly as attractive as an elf some would say. But that's not for Adam to decide. What was for him to decide was what kind of swill to poison himself with at Bob's Beer factory. Frankly, the beer was the only thing that kept him in this part of Seattle. Otherwise he'd be in some other bar wasting his money... Well, that's not exactly true, the distance to his home also helped. And of course, if he wasn't dragged there by his old friend Adriana he probably wouldn't even think of the place. But, as all of the above contributed to him first finding the place, he was there now deciding to get a nice dark brew.

While others where pounding beers, one man was pounding a punching bag. A punching bag with a picture of an orc on it-well worn from repeated strikes. He takes a break, breathing heavily, wiping the sweat off his forehead with his forearm. He then makes his way toward the full-body mirror, walking past the weights and exercise machines of his home-gym on his way. Once at his destination, he flexes his muscles to himself in a variety of poses as he catches his breath. Once satisfied, he picks up a jump rope to begin his next exercise.

Meanwhile in a different bar, a big drinking contest was taking place in The Aurora. Most metahumans weren't meant to drink the drek they serve there, but some guys thought it would be fun to watch them try. Originally starting with twelve people, there are now only two left standing. A massive orc and a short dwarf.

Despite their size differences both were fairing just as well. The crowd was silent, waiting to see who would collapse first...

"Yer begin'n to slip, how about you just give up and go home. Maybe then you'll still have some dignity left when I wipe the floor with you."

The dwarf burps as he waits to see what the orc's next move is...

You can fake being able to run on water. You can't fake looking cool when you break your foot on a door and hit your head on the floor.

Terrance was just outside a Nukit Burger, enjoying a meal before he left for home. It had been a long day, and he had a feeling the night wouldn't be too short either.

The interior apartment did not have a real window, but looking out the REAL© window was almost as good.  It was set to an outside view for now with the false sunlight streaming in to neat room.  Issac is sitting on a simple plastic chair looking out the window, puzzling over some info sheets.  There would be some time for practice this week and to slip out to some extra clubs on the weekend to network.

He heard sounds from another room, two kids, a boy cursing in orc slang over some game and a girl laughing, probably watching another weird toon. Should probably reprimand him on that or something?

The worrying started to set in, too many bills, no talent, no real idea what I am doing.  He shuts his eyes and forces calm in his mind then opens his eyes and stares back out through the window, everything was fine for now and it would work out somehow.

Bird
The bar was quiet this time of day. People come and go, but they don't stay long, either for lack of reason or lack of time. This suits you fine however, as you look deep into your drink. The jobs have been coming slowly lately. People seemed to care less about freelancers and more about a established team. Mmmm... Let's see, rent is due in three months and there is not enough money to pay it. Maybe it's time to see into getting a more normal line of work. You chuckle to yourself at the thought of you in a wageslave's cube and then sigh. Adriana was off in the corner either making some kind of deal, or making a joke. You can never really tell, she always uses the same exaggerated arm motions. Suddenly, your commlink pings. A mail from a unfamiliar address. And the subject reads Looking for Work? Maybe you will be able to pay rent in three months. You pop open the message and read it.
Hmmmm.... you gaze into your drink again. Sounds interesting. And working with a regular team would pay better... Time to make a choice.

Stroheim
A hop, a skip, and a jump later, and you're finishing up your routine on the bench. As you begin your second rep, you realize that it's been about six months since you got out of dodge and left those frakking idiots in the group. You've been doing minor muscle stuff since then, but now you just seem to be going through the motions for the hell of it. You don't have a purpose anymore. As you're really getting into the swing of it, your commlink pings and you swear, dropping the weighs off on the rack. Maybe you will have something to do soon...
Hmm... you've never worked with a team before, but this sounds like work, and it's better than just running in place. To go or not to go...

Mjolner
"Yar goin' down ya wee little piece of drek! Gimme another drink! The Orc takes the next glass that's handed to him and chugs it down [2 hits, Glitch!] He looks totally fine, and is opening his mouth to say something, but instead of words a torrent of vomit comes out and he falls forward onto the floor into his own bile. Eugh. You grab the last drink on the table and [5 hits] down it neatly and perfectly. Everyone cheers, and money changes hands all around you. Then your commlink rings in your pocket, and you step away from the circle. Looking for work? Yep, that would be me. Rent is due next month and something needs to get payed.
Hmmm, working with a team again would be nice, would almost be like the old gang... Might be worth checking out.

Nails
The sun going down over the skyline provided a perfect thing to stare at as you went down on a soyburger. It was the basic, but that's what 10 hours a week on average gets you. Covering for other lazy bastards as a security guard was never good work, but it kept you off the streets. Well, maybe not for that long. Rent's gone up and soon that 10 hours a week won't cut it anymore. However, you have been looking for some kind of work, and it looks like today is your lucky day. Your commlink pinging tells you that apparently someone wants your talents.
You're not very experienced in... ahh.. this particular line of work. But maybe this is worth looking into.

Wrath
The info sheets were getting annoying, so you shoved them to the side, and stood up. The REAL© windows was also, so you shut it off also. You can almost feel Fire-Bringer sigh in your head.
Don't be this way... you've done so much good...
Yeah, you've done a lot of good, and a lot of bad also. But that's not the point. The point is right now, nothing is working out for you and drek is rapidly hitting the fan, and unless some money magically appears in your pocket, you're gonna be out in the street in two months, along with these kids who don't deserve it. You've been looking for gigs of any kind, but nothing has been happening. And the bills can't be just ignored. Soon you're going to have to... wait, that's your commlink beeping, not the toon. You grab it and look at the message. Here we go, finally a break.
This is not what you were thinking of when you were thinking of work... but do you really have that many options? It might worth it to go, at the very least...

Everett
Hiya Everett!
That's the first thing you saw when you woke up, with a god awful headache. You sat up, rubbing your head, as the note lying on your face fell to the floor. Then you realized, you had no idea where you were. Scratch that, not only did you have no idea where you were, you had no WHO you are. A quick look around reveals yourself to be in the back of a van, with... stuff lying around. Just a load of crap in bags. In your arm is a syringe with traces of a blue liquid in it. You, panicking, rip it out of your arm, and then throw it against the wall, where it shatters. You scramble for the note, and read it in hopes of understanding... something.
Spoiler: Note (click to show/hide)
What...
You have no idea what's going on, but you notice what there is something beeping in the corner. It looks like... a commlink? You pick it up and see there is one message for you. It's registered to a Everett Johansen, and the message is from a Eximious? What the drek...
Maybe it will be worth to go here... just to get some answers...
You gain English as a natural language skill

Adam smiles to himself as he sips his drink. He looks over to Adriana as he mentally pulls up the mapsoft to check out the adress. After a bit of thought he gets up with his drink to approach his room mate without interupting her conversation.

Fenris Nacht? That place that looks like a halfer summer home with a little armed garden gnome?

Stroheim throws a towel over his shoulder as he walks over to his equipment locker. He opens the door, pulling out a pistol which he examines. He removes the magazine, makes sure its loaded, puts it back and cocks it. He does the same with a second gun, checking over his gear for the upcoming job.

The man rose, looking uncomprehendingly at the contents of what was clearly a heavily modified van, powerleads criss-crossing the ceiling, a row of what looked like toolboxes along one wall... His hand, moving by itself, moved to a hidden latch in the floor, revealing a heavily customized and well-worn P93 and a spare magazine for it, both loaded, alongside a grey ballistic mask. The deck in his hands chirped, giving status updates on its three connected drones. A RCC then. A quick bit of patting along his skin confirmed that he lacked an implanted deck or the like, raising still more questions.

Well, the note helped answer a few of the questions. And Shadowrunning sounded like something he had been used to doing, judging from what was in the van.

After reading the message, Mjolner returned to the crowd and gave the filthy orc a cold stare...

"Y'know what Tusker, you can wipe the floor on your own."  the dwarf says before tossing him a mop he grabbed from the janitor's closet.

Now that the business at the bar was dealt with it was time to focus on the actual business, you know... the message. He knew what it was, a request from a Mr. Johnson to perform some shadowrunning. Mjolner didn't do a lot of shadowrunning but he had enough experience to know what the work was like. It was unpredictable and dangerous, the kind of work you had to prepare yourself for if you wanted any chance at surviving...

*sigh*

Mjolner would go to Mr. Johnson and accept the job, he needed the money. When he got the briefing, then he'll go shopping and buy anything he may be missing.

Nails took a moment to consider what this meant for him. Yeah, it could get him geeked fast, but at least he wouldn't be broke. That, and he would have something to do between shifts.

It looked like he wouldn't be headed home quite yet after all.

The message closes and his eyes close.  Another one of these, and this time right from the source.  Well the money might be good and he could always walk away.

Issac taps back open the data pad and continues flipping through businesses on the map idly, moving down towards Fenris Nacht to see if it is public and trying to remember anything he knows about it.

After a few minutes he gets up and heads over to the kid's room and pops his head in.  "Hey guys, I got called in for a late shift so I am going to go grab dinner from the vendor right now just tell me what you want.  Also start on your studysoft I will be back in a few."

After getting an order he heads back to his room.  Four walls, a bed, a dresser, a closet and a drum set.  Issac pushes aside the mattress and opens the large lockbox and sorting through the weapons he draws out a long knife with ornate Celtic designs on the handle.  Then the only cloths appropriate for this kind of meetup, black windbreaker, green shirt with a Breaklock logo on it smiling in that creepy way, pair of dark blue jeans.  Well he could keep the jacket closed, what the hell was he thinking when he bought that.

Issac grabs the weapon, tells the kids to eat and heads out.  The rail is not the most glamorous way to travel but it is cheap.
