Journal of Airith

Well, the past few months have been too busy for me to write. With all that is going on I haven't seen the need for writing, but I had somefree time today so here I am. I must confess dear journal, that I am rather sick of this food here. Its never any good. I need a decent meal, and for that we need a decent cook. I'll run it by Lotu for a new kitchens area, a proper place for our cooks and brewers to work.

Another matter that has me feeling down is that I haven't been around my dear hubby for a while. I know the hardships of running a city but I wish he would spend more time with me.

While I'm complaining, I must say that I need a library. I have gone without hard thinking for too long. I need a good book... and the time to read it.

In other news, my talks with Dr. Urist are going quite nicely. Lately, we have gone from straight "business" talks to more casual friendly banter. S/He is a nice chap and I really enjoy their company.

Well, I got to get back to work. I hear Ryukan crying too, that baby is really keeping me on my toes.

Hm. Do the replaced mayors ever notice it, anyway? Have never really tried it, or had reason to try.

Urdim....Whether a castle fortress or deep underground, whether on single z-level or limited to 7x7 pile, there is always an entrance and grand constructions - often focused on hallways or dining rooms. I imagine beauty, I imagine majesty, I imagine projects. I imagine guest-impressing, impregnable, welcoming entrances. I imagine almost all your temples are beautiful projects with notable entrances.

Sucks for Airith, was she one of the dwarves who wanted to consume giant enemy crabs?

Giant kiwi and oat flour.  I can make the flour if I get seeds from the humans first, but getting her to eat meals made with it...

Update: I played through most of Slate this weekend, with a bit over a month to go yet in spring.  The work schedule will start calming back down about midweek, so the next update should be up towards the end of the week.

May I have a dwarf? Male, woodcrafter if possible.

We're close to a month away from the anniversary of the last update, but I still hope you're right, Spriggans.

Hi all,

So, life rather got in the way, and then I completely forgot about this... :-[  Is there any interest in my picking up the thread of the story again (with the caveat that I cannot guarantee any kind of regularity in the updates)?  If I do, I won't be porting the save to an updated version, I fear it wouldn't play nicely...

Judging from the number of views, I've spent the day re-familiarizing myself with the fort and the various threads of the story.  I'm planning to restart from the beginning of spring, since my notes for the latest season are rather sparse.
