Broadly speaking, VA-11 HALL-A is a visual novel that simultaneously manages to be bleak and light-hearted. The story follows a glimpse into the life of its protagonist Jill, resident 20-something and bartender of Glitch City, a futuristic metropolitan dystopia mired in political corruption, abject poverty, wanton violence, and internet memes. What makes "Valhalla" rather unique in the storytelling department is not its wealth of dialogue, nor its dialogue choices- because, well, in fact there are none, strictly speaking. Rather than putting words directly into Jill's mouth, your role is to choose and mix her client's drinks, which in turn influences their interactions, and may have far reaching effects.
Since this game has made its way among the few that have really wormed their way into my heart, I've decided to hold another giveaway to spread the fun and support its makers. As a disclaimer, some of the written content can be somewhat graphic, and both this and its unreserved interweb-esque humor will not be appreciated by all audiences.
