My long-time fantasy in DF is retiring to a quiet village after a life of adventuring, opening a tavern and telling stories of my exploits to travellers or perhaps move to a quiet priory and chronicle all my achievements and/or crimes. AFAIK no game lets you do that.

You can already write a book about events you caused, I think.

I suppose it has to be on the way, at some point at least, perhaps confined to a certain category - like a book on a certain dwarven civilisation that mentions major events in its history. Being a chronicler and learning about various events from many NPCs would probably be one of the best professions!
