How feasible is it to make basically a mass production of cantrip-containing devices?

That's probably a really stupid question.

But I have this image of someone just seeing an untapped market in magic and going after it full-bore with a cantrip factory.

Um, how recent is the advancement and resurgence of firearms and the like? Is it feasible that someone could have been around to see things develop?
Hm. Looking back on the historical development of firearms, I'd say the transition from "early" to "advanced" was shortly before the development of locomotives, so a short-lived creature like a human would need to be pretty old to remember when muskets and blunderbusses were the norm, but a long-lived creature like a dhampir or an elf could remember those days no problem. A venerable "long-lived" creature such as an elf or dhampir could, with some luck on their max age roll, be old enough to remember before firearms were even invented, but seeing as they'd have a cumulative -6 on their physical stats they wouldn't get much use out of any of them.

I'd imagine at least two or three levels' worth of treasure-gathering could net you the capital to start a business like that. You'd probably have to start manufacturing them yourself or hire some enterprising college student, but that's definitely a plausible idea with effort.

Do we have an industrious rogue on our hands?

I have no idea.  It's possible?  For context, it's quarter of one in the morning, I'm not being coherent.  All the same, I think I will explore this idea...

If you want to do that sort of thing as a Rogue, TBF, no issue. I can change class no problem. I just really want to make a lighthearted lady character in a game that doesnt die out

Oh! Totally forgot to ask, could you guys use Myth-Weavers? Great site, does some minor calculations for you and saves everyone a little time.

Myth-Weavers has an excellent array of sheets for tabletop games but I believe you need to make an account to use the feature.

If not, I'll make a new account.

Looks interesting, I may join and might be interested in playing a magus or inquisitor.

I have a few questions,
1) Which races are we allowed to choose from? (I am thinking of choosing one of these: Dhampir, Fetchling or changeling)
2) As firearms are commonly used, does that mean they replaced the normal martial weapons (such as swords, axes, etc), or do we still need a weapon proficiency feat for that?
3) Are archetypes of the listed classes ok? I think there was an interesting one for magus, but I'll have to double check.
4) How are we handling starting wealth? Are we taking the average?
Sorry if it seems like a lot of questions.

1) I planned to say yes or no on a case by case basis. Dhampir or changeling is OK.
2) Firearms are simple weapons as detailed in the OP.
3) Sure.
4) Take the average or roll, whichever you want.
Sorry if it seems like a lot of questions.
No, it's perfectly alright! These are things I really should've addressed in the OP, truth be told :v

I'm so tempted to make a Vigilante Cantrip Industry Batman.  But that would be kinda stupid.  Especially since I suck at actually writing backstory and there's like no way I'm going to be able to produce three paragraphs explaining it.  :v

Ah, did I leave that one in there? My bad, that was from my original version of the setting, which was more 1600s-ish. Batman makes much more sense in the 1800s, you're good with just two or so.
