This problem occurs when I try to start the latest version of DF.

What can i do to fix this?

It says "XP version" but he later says it should work in Windows 7 and stuff too.

Work through from page 1 of the announcements thread. I installed the dll Toady posted, then the 'new df.exe' and I'm up and running now (Windows 10 64 bit).

Later a version for XP was posted. That seemed to work for some Windows 7 users too in case the previous one didn't.

Seems like it'll be a couple of days before it's all fixed (expect a possible crash on exit too - not getting that myself).
