Name: Fenri, Fifteenth Fang, Husband of Forests, Wife of Ulfric, Grand Chieftess of the Seven Tribes, Chieftess of the Saberclaw Tribe, Daughter of Grandarr of Saberclaw, Daughter of Alri of Whisperwater, slayer of Barktooth
Character Bio:
These are cruel times we live in, but when have times ever been kind? We must be strong, for the weak are nothing but prey. Enemies or beasts... we'll consume them both if we must!
Fenri of Saberclaw is the fifteenth Chieftess of the Seven Tribes, by right of blood, right of marriage, and right of strength. A tall, powerful woman, with visible muscles and scars. She bears the tattoos of all the tribes, as the Grand Chieftain. No soft maiden, is Fenri! Her hair is long, never cut, and the natural black dyed red with the blood of the monstrous carnos. She wears the thick hide of Barktooth, the rambunctious beast that devoured her sister, and its hard-as-steel skull as a helm. A cloth wrap covers her missing eye. Her remaining eye is green, piercingly so, like a chip of emerald. She can almost always be found smoking a long, delicate pipe of an aromatic smoking herb, and the musk clings to her over the smell of blood and leather. Across her chest is a great scar, courtesy of old Barktooth.
A bold, brash woman, she appears little more than a backwards savage to more 'civilised' lords, but she spits at the miserable people, who cower in their towns and fear the beasts of the forests! All beasts and men were once brothers, after all. Still, she has a mind to her, and her vibrant actions and booming voice are powerful tools in motivating others. She has a great skill with weapons at arms, and as a Chief, rightly ignores the use of ranged weapons. No dishonour in it, but not the place of a Chief.
Once someone pointed to the skull she wore, and asked if that was the action of a brother. She smiled.
Sometimes brothers fight.
Fenri was born to the Chief of her Tribe, Grandarr, as one of three children: a sister and a brother also. As tradition dictated, to keep peace among the Tribes, he had taken a wife from another tribe, so that power was shared. She was raised and taught in the arts of her tribe - hunting and war, beast taming and riding, how to speak and how to command. When she was thirteen, the vile beast Barktooth devoured her sister, and Fenri was of great wroth; she raised a war party, and hunted and slew the vile beast, though she lost an eye and nearly her life in the attempt.
When she reached sixteen, the age of adulthood, her Father knew he was too old to lead the tribes, and seceded the position to her, full of life. As was sensible, she took a forest wife and a husband from the next strongest tribe, the Beastbite, where she had earned much respect in the slaying of Barktooth. She has, with charisma and strength, established herself as the undisputed leader of the tribes, and turned her eyes outward, to the prey-men of the other kingdoms...
Character traits:
The carnos respect their alpha because of his strength. Men are the same. If he weakened, they may fall upon him and devour him.

Name Dynasty: The Seven Tribes
Dynasty members (up to 3 in addition to head of the house):
Tamar of Talloak, The Forest Wife, Wife to Fenri: The Forest Wife is traditionally taken from the Talloak Tribe, no matter the gender of the Grand Chief: the Talloak Tribe is the smallest, but most holy, able to perform communion with the forest and the beasts, contact the spirits of ancestors, and beseech the world to change for the Tribes. Such is believed, anyway. Tamar is a surprisingly delicate woman, with dark brown hair and eyes. The voice of reason, she tempers her husband's more forceful impulses, and calms her mood when she is wroth. She is skilled with words, with a natural grasp of logistics and administration, but no skill at arms. No Forest Wife could slay a man.
Ulfric of Beastbite, Husband to Fenri, Son of Undarf of Beastbite, Son of Zari of Swampsmoke: A great, strapping fellow, but more inclined towards strategy than his wife. A son of a Chieftain in his own right, he would have been Chief of Saberclaw by marriage if Fenri was not Grand Chieftess and Fifteenth Fang. A keen strategic mind, and also a strong combatant, he is a good match for his wife, who is keen to listen to his advice.
Grandric of Saberclaw, Chief of Vinetwist, Husband to Saran, Son of Grandarr of Saberclaw, Son of Alri of Whisperwater: Fenri's brother, who married into the Vinetwist Tribe to become its chief. Smaller than Fenri, with a cunning mind. Loyal to his sister, for she is elder to him.
Description of dynasty and domain:
In the belly of the world, all animals were brothers, and men cavorted with the beasts. The Night-Mother split the earrth where she walked, and man and beasts emerged into the world.
"Who are you?" Night-Mother asked.
"We are beasts and we are man, and we are all brothers," they replied.
But soon Night-Mother departed, and the gross incandescence of the Sun-Father shone on the beasts and on man. Some howled at the light, and squirmed away to shadowed corners. Others learned to love the day, and fear the dark. Soon all forgot they had once been brothers in the belly of the world.
The seven tribes are united, through blood and marriage and strength - much greater threats are around, and there are no men to spare in blood feuds. Their land is that of thick forests, shrouded by fog, thick with endless beasts, and it is those beasts that are their strength. Their steel is rarer, their warbands less regimented than other nations, but they have found a brotherhood with the monsters in the forest.
Some, like the fearsome carnos, they walk besides, vast, scaled hounds with a poisonous bite. Others, like the sinuous, rattling gardwyrm, they ride, and hunt their foes in the mist like the wolf chases the rabbit. These creatures are more suited for the forests than horses, but perhaps less so for plains. Other creatures, larger, one of a kind, may sometimes be found among their ranks.
The land of the Seven Tribes is entirely coated in thick forests, bar the occasional hilltop cleared to build a fort. There are countless rivers running though the land from the nearby Ironpeaks, though the Tribes' territory is completely landlocked. It has good mines for gold, and more is washed down from the mountains, but the true wealth lies in the beasts, who are used as food and materials for armour, weapons, and more. The people tend to be simple, but resourceful, with great numbers of hunters. The military is in the form of warbands, raised by the nobles of each tribe.
The seven tribes are: Saberclaw, Beastbite, Vinetwist, Whisperwater, Swampsmoke, Laughshield, Talloak.
