In the IC, I'm assuming that Gregory agreed to be the referee. I'm also assuming that our characters' capabilities as runners are roughly proportional to their SPD stats. (Arnold isn't running as fast as he can right now.) Please let me know if you take issue with any of this.

Naw if we want running contests, I would base it on MOV + SPD/4.

Just to make it more complex ;P

That also accounts better for MOV, which is more relevant to covering ground than SPD.

Assuming things for how other characters are acting is typically a no no, yeah

You're right about basing it on MOV, I didn't think of that, probably because most of us have had the same MOV for a while now.

I'll remove my latest IC post, to avoid any perception of character hijacking. Presumably, the runners are still waiting for Gregory to tell them whether he wants to be referee.

Ah, well. Sometimes there's a fine line between godmodding and taking advantage of the flexible timeline of rping to move a scene forward appropriately. Personally I feel Mopsy is falling in the "perfectly fine" area with this action. I understand the response from Haspen and Swordstar but I think specifically this case Mopsy did good.

Yeah, I personally think it's a little overprotective. Haspen and Swordstar, being GMs, might be concerned about a slippery slope where people start posting actions for each other's characters left and right. Rolling back a single post is easy, but if some of the "hijacked" players play along with the hijack before another player announces that they are unhappy about it, then the rollback could get much larger.

On the other hand, as Criptfiend says there is a significant cost associated with each round of posting in forum-based RP. I'm in favor of short-circuiting some exchanges, assuming certain reasonable, minor actions by other PCs to speed things up. I wouldn't get angry if a character was making breakfast and their player assumed that Arnold also said he wanted some.

Interrupting ongoing RP with your own stuff, or assuming a consequential action (e.g. "punch X", "kiss Y") is another matter. I would never do that, and probably wouldn't be happy if someone else did it.

No real need to speed up the race, then. I'll be waiting eagerly for the resumption of shenanigans.

Edit: By "waiting eagerly" I mean that I'm excited about the next battle map, not that I'm not interested in doing any more roleplaying while we're waiting, because I am.

" I am Gregory Zecklin. Mage Solider."
With this being a reich I would have thought he would be more of a gasser

I dunno. I feel like the order would end up Arnold, Alissa, Cecil. Arnold has slightly more speed than both of them, which makes a difference when move is equal, and while Alissa and Cecil have the same speed Cecil is weighed down by armor.

That's what I would have assumed as an ending order as well (although for different reasons.)

Those reasons being? I'm curious.
