Name: Isla Dubh
Age: 17, in all respects
Gender: Female
Sex: Female
Race: Wizard-Created Chess Piece Girl (Black Bishop)
Appearance: Isla stands at 5'9'' and is rather slim... though the 2mm segments of black porcelain armor that line her body somewhat obscure her build. The armor lines her torso and back, and rings around her arms and legs, albeit leaving her palms and the soles of her feet uncovered and going up the sides of her neck to the lower part of her jaw. Aside from that, she's white-skinned, with straight brown hair that dangles to between her shoulderblades and green eyes. She wears a set of form-fitting (fitting her armor that is) black clothes, usually.
Personality: Being part of an insane and incredibly sadistic wizard's living version of chess for almost all of Isla's life has left an indelible mark on her. While she is typically quiet and very formal, Isla clings onto patterns and rules, as they were the backbone of her life back in the bad old days. When she walks on things that resemble chessboards, she'll walk diagonally, and certain egregious breaches of combat etiquette or the rules will make her greatly anxious or drive her into a rage.
Isla was created by a mad wizard, Talloras the Cruel, in his tower and she grew normally there... except that she functioned for the sadistic wizard's entertainment, where she and her brethren fought each other in living chess games. She was there for the first fourteen years of her life, than Talloras was messily killed by a robber invading his tower. In the aftermath, Isla was rescued and spent the next three years of her life being caretaken by certain staff at Voidlight Academy, for she wouldn't be able to adjust normally to life, and has been an asset for the Academy since -- she can fight, after all.

Perks: Black Piece Armor: Isla has black carapace plate armor naturally grown upon her body, and this naturally increases her toughness. Isla gains +1 RES per level.
Kingside (gained with Flaw): Having been a kingside bishop, Isla has for most of her life worked beside a leader she trusted, and is typically highly devoted to such leaders. Before a battle, Isla designates a character as a "King" and when she is adjacent to this King she takes half of the damage of attacks aimed at the King herself instead.
FLAW: Rules of Movement: Patterns from a life of being naught more than a chess piece have stuck patterns and rules into Isla's head, and certain ones are so deeply ingrained that breaking them causes Isla severe distress. If Isla moves in a manner that is not a diagonal line, she loses half of her RES.
Affinities: Unarmed melee, magic beams, patterns.
Actions: AP: 6
Basic Attack: Armored Punch: Isla strikes someone with her armored fist, dealing 2d4+STR damage.
Basic Defense: Armor Stance: Isla moves into a defensive stance that emphasizes the coverage of her natural armor, doubling her RES.
Check (Melee, Active)(Level 2): Isla brings her armored foot heavily down upon the target, dealing 2d4+STR of the opponent has more than half health, or 4d4+STR damage if the opponent has less than half health.
Upgrade to Level 2: Damage upgraded from 1d4 and 3d4 to 2d4 and 4d4.
Elemental Beam (Ranged, Active)(Level 2): Isla fires a magical beam at an opponent, dealing 2d4+SYN damage. She can choose to use Ice, which halves an opponent's movement speed this turn, or Water, which reduces their RES by Isla's SYN.
Upgrade to Level 2: Water option added.
Inventory:
Old Buckler: A very old buckler, a gift from the defensive teacher from his days fighting the void creatures. +2 RES.
King's Token: A gift from the Black King, back in her chess days. +2 RES to the "King" specified by her perk, if she is next to him.
Gauntlet Plates: The plates of natural armor on Isla's hands. Cannot be removed or disarmed, count as unarmed, melee, 2d4+STR.
