Name: Helena Winterwald
Description: Image.. As a lesser heir of the winterwald dynasty, Helena received combat training and individualy geared tuition to bring forth her abilities from a young age. Finaly deemed sub-par, she shared the fate of all who weren't taken into the main branch of the family, and was simply left to fend for herself. Only really having one skill, Helena became a mercenary, and a lifetime of combat has made her a formidable fighter, even able to take out an ICARUS-unit in close combat.
However, the battlefield is hardly good company for a young girl, so her social skills are underdeveloped, and often times she feels inadequate, and at times ashamed for utterly failing to behave like a girl at all. She feels that returning to a normal life would be impossible, and although she desired it, she was afraid of doing so. As a result, the war against the void is somehow welcome to her - it gives her a perfect excuse to never face her weaknesses.
On the frontlines of the war against the void, Helena quickly gained recognition, and soon fame as a soldier known for her keen instinct. Keeping herself, and whatever soldiers are around her at incredibly low numbers of dead and wounded, while yet accomplishing difficult objectives has somewhat made her a star, mostly due to the fact that she outright denies having any magical abilities - they are not obvious in any way. As such, she has been picked up by the propaganda machine, as the face of the war, hoping to inspire as many people as possible to pick up arms against the void, conveying the message that you don't need magic to be a hero. Which once again drags her away from just being a simple soldier, into the social spotlight, and through a very sudden series of promotions, into quite a bit of responsibility as well.
Little do they know that her courage is fake. You don't need courage when you KNOW what is going to happen. However the frequent visions of herself or her comrades dying has left her with more than enough nightmares.
In combat she prefers close-quarters, mostly because it allows her body to keep up with her ability. Even if you see bullets coming, you won't usualy be able to dodge them. She is also an incredibly accurate, but ineffective sniper. She has never taken a shot that missed, but often aims so long, she doesn't take a shot at all - waiting until she sees that she will hit.
