I really liked the way the IBM 5140 looks... so much so that I converted it to tileset format.

Another resource that I've relied on heavily: here and here. My two tileset fonts are based on Saikyo Sans and Torus Sans from the former, and (soon) Berlin from the latter, if you want to use something that I didn't (not that you need to). I was tempted to make another one-off tileset using Moscow from the latter set as a nod to Vherid's "soviet-inspired" tilesets.

"Pixel artists only" though, as none of them represent anything approaching the complete codepage: you'll need to draw everything else yourself or lean on a different codepage: accented characters, "card suit" characters, box drawing characters, missing punctuation, etc.

I was wondering about the sizes of these and thought others might be wondering too.

Just a couple of notes:
The two Hercules 8px and Plantronics ColorPlus are all identical.
The two Hercules 14px and IBM MDA are all identical.

Nice to see some fans of old school computers. What Rogue Yun linked is a bit too old school for me. What I remember and what grew up with is the IBM EGA8 and IBM VGA8 font, shown nicely on this wonderful site.

That IBM PS/2thin4 is pretty close to what I was looking for.

IBM PS/2thin4 formatted for Dwarf Fortress:

I may actually try to use a tileset.  Very pleasant change of pace.

I was also using a different color scheme, by the way.

It's here if you want it: Spacefox color scheme

Much thanks Rogue Yun. Love old fonts.

Jecowa, that's a beautiful tile set. I haven't switched sets since changing to Xenomorph's acorn.bmp which was the font on the RISC OS. Been over a year on that.

I really like how spare/clean/minimal the lines are on IBM PS/2thin4 set. It's a great aesthetic. Thank you.

EDIT: Also just noticed the link to http://int10h.org/oldschool-pc-fonts/fontlist/ A nice find Nagidal!
