Siddus moves away from the expanding plants into the magma bed to the south, unaware at first of the tolerance they would have to it's heat. Gradually it moves to the edge and seeing the plants drink magma nibbles on them as well.
A wonderful creation, and now things to flit around on the surface. Me and you might do something about the sky eventually I guess. But for now let me see if I can do something under the rock to keep the magma flowing to these new drinkers.
Siddus swims to the cooling magma lake at the center of the world and reaches down, pulling out several small strands of liquid rock. They condense and shift, energy flowing into them as their materials change into different metals and compounds. Complex pathways form out of materials new to the world and in a shout of pain new minds emerge from chaos.
The seven creatures are made of rock and metal, half a meter long and covered in scales of different materials. They look up at Siddus with a spark of curiosity and intelligence and it imparts to them the language of heat and fire. They make their way to the edge of the lake and Siddus shows them the plants and animals they may consume for energy and the rocks they may eat to grow and carry out their purpose.
You are the gardeners of this world, to distribute heat and magma, metal and stone, as you see fit. I will teach you the ways that create balance and plenty, so that a world of terrible beauty and varied growth can nurture all the children of the gods. The lakes of magma before you will pass one day from this world as all things do, but you and I will keep it flowing everywhere under the ground where it can nourish.
Create the seven metal wyrms, asexual silicon-metal based life forms which resemble reptilian heads on a worm like body. They eat organic materials and inorganic rock to absorb energy and grow. Metal ores are created as a waste product and to cover their bodies. They can also subsist on directly absorbing energy from rock and magma, but this is energy inefficient and prevents growth and higher thought, like a stasis.
They start out about half a meter long after emerging from rarely produced eggs and take several decades to grow into huge adults which can be 10 to 40 meters long and live for several hundred years. They are intelligent and sapient and capable of retaining lots of information, though they learn and reason slowly most of the time. When they act quickly it is often defensive and destructive.
They have free will, although they do have a basic instinct to move and create and form the world around them.
The seven types are Iron, Copper, Gold, Silver, Aluminum, Titanium and Chaos. They have different patterns of behavior and Chaos can create a wide variety of different rare metal compounds. The metal ores they produce tend to be more dense then the rock they eat so channels open up where the larger adults pass.
Siddus teaches them the language of fire, where different levels of produced and arranged heat have meaning. It also teaches them about themselves and how to preserve the world by irrigating it with tunnels to keep magma and heat flowing as well as how to shape the world with their passing over geological time periods.
Seven juveniles are created initially but they are watched over by Siddus until there are several thousand adults.
