Can I Dualboot Linux on a Chromebook and Play DF?
« on: June 17, 2016, 08:43:10 pm »

So, I've been playing DF for a while, hadn't really been on the Fourms. But my PC broke down a few days ago and I have a quick question: Is it possible to play DF on Chromebook? I can dual boot it with linux and chromeos but is there any other steps required? Also, is the game runnable on my system?

Specs:
armv7l processors
Rockchip device tree
4 processors
33 gb of memory space
4 gb ddr3 ram

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should move this to DF General Discussion with the "Move Topic" tag at the bottom of the page.

Hope everything works out, by the way. Not sure what kind of advice to offer :\

What the guy above me said.

There are some surprisingly powerful Intel CPU Chromebooks these days, though, and you can basically run Linux side-by-side on those using crouton, which is nice.

But yeah, with an ARM processor you're not going to be running pretty much any software designed for a more normal computing environment.

I got df running nicely for the missus on her C720 via a crouton, she still hasn't gotten the bug to figure it out much yet, but I'm biding my time.
