This only furthers my suspicions that Junji Ito is involved in the project. This is figuratively and literally oozing with the seaside body horror that's his major thing.

The disappearing wargear/cords make me suspect nanomachines are somehow involved.

Pemmican is pretty incredibly durable. Corn and rice also lust forever without refrigeration.
Ah yes, the insatiable lust of corn and rice, clearly two of the most erotic foods.

I would really, really, like it if they just called it magic, not nanomachines. Because that's not how nanomachines work, dammit.

I vaguely suspect that we might be looking at a failed singularity sort of setting, where technology is so advanced it might as well be magic to humans. Thus you've got the whole mass death scenario, except nothing is truly dead now and even WWII soldiers are getting pulled out of the grave. This is also the reason for the strands.

I'm excited if they can make it fairly scary, but not like p spoopy, and also chill on the trademark Kojima weird Japanese comedy, and make it have a coherent plot.

I feel no particular need for a coherent plot from this thing. The less they explain, the more fun I'll have with it.

I fully expect to play the game and finish it wondering what the hell just happened.

So Kojima said that Death Stranding's release date is "before the events of Akira". Which would be 2019.

Never change, Kojima.

I'm glad it was worthwhile supporting the lad. Can't wait to see what he comes up with.

This year's trailer just premiered, I'll update when it goes up on Youtube. My short take: It's as weird as you'd expect and I'm more convinced this is about an AI bringing "back" dead humans incorrectly. No signs of Junji Ito, sadly.

Reedus's comments made it for me.

"I'm just glad you gave me clothes this time."

"Now I've got to go check the internet to find out what I just watched."

I'm more confused than ever before in my entire life. That's usually a sign of a well directed game.

So, neat trailer, but do we know anything about the game yet?
