I know we're mostly burnt out on civcraft, but before 3.0 launches next month the admins are looking for some small builds to lend flavour to the map, ruins, caves, atmospheric areas etc. Maybe some of you might be interested in contributing? https://www.reddit.com/r/Civcraft/comments/4ovllp/resuming_building_contest_and_mapworld_ama_2/
There's a few restrictions of course, no loot, precious materials, mob spawners, they should be small and thematically appropriate.  I'm sure someone might have some ideas, I'm thinking of maybe doing some cobblestone stuff that would give an slight impression of the feeling of abandoned past civilisation like 2.0 gave me.

I'll have a look

I kind of miss the 2.0 dramas, Civtest just seemed more juvenile somehow. I think the longevity of disputes in 2.0 lent more legitimacy to the butthurt. Civtest just didn't have anything to compare to the slowly evolving power blocks that wrestled and backstabbed their way to relevancy.
Also the memes were low tier, not even dank, 1/10, wouldn't meme again.

This is why a lot of players switched over to Devoted.

We actually have gotten a lot of newfriends who have never played Civcraft too.

This...is interesting.

I enjoy minecraft, moreso with mods that add difficulty. Devoted sounds like a good place for me. Just need enough obsidian to build my house.

Have you considered ATLauncher? Their Pixelmon mod pack comes with a list of servers, perhaps you could do the same? I like ATL because it allows you to set more ram, and you could establish a baseline set of mods to make the experience more enjoyable, or leave it vanilla. I'd recommend Carpenter's Blocks, if nothing else.
Using obsidian to build a house...?

Also if you want you're free to join us in Ascalon. Message bayernanhaenger as he's in charge of new citizens

I'll think about it. Internet's not that good where I am.

And yes, I use obsidian to build just about everything. Can't trust anyone.

Huge wave of mineman terrorism at the moment happening in Ascalon is causing some big isolationism right now on the server. Ascalon is very unsafe

Are you talking about devoted? Because civcraft is still down, 3.0 is expected after first week of July, but that's not a concrete date.
The last I heard of devoted my good friend zombielenin started another glorious people's revolution.

Yeah I'm talking about Devoted. The terrorism has faded, but Agora has given the Pirates an ultimatum. War is coming very very soon.

I look to be getting a new computer soon, so I may actually be able to play things such as these without overheating every ten minutes on minimum settings.

Darn, I was planning on starting one of these myself! I was the guy who was over the old Tygrus group running with the 4chan guys. Guess I'll have to go it my own this time, beat me here.

Civcraft 1.0 was ages ago, and was replaced by 2.0, which ended fairly recently, Civtemp/3.test was up for a couple of months to support development, now we're awaiting 3.0.
