Monster Masters WWII RPG IC: Boot Camp!
« on: June 13, 2016, 06:59:08 pm »

"ALL RIGHT YOU MAGGARROTES, LISTEN UP!"

A drill instructor stands in front of a line of new recruits, including yourselves. Behind him is a massive ape, at least the size of a building, standing at attention.

"Welcome to Nightmare Island, or as I like to call it, your own personal Hell. You are now officially less than human. Those of you who where less than human before are now even less than less than human. I am Hartman, your DI for the next few weeks. You will refer to me as Sir. Behind me is Kong. He is here to save your sorry Balaam when you screw up, and beat your sorry Balaam if you really screw up. If Kong drops a deuce in a field, the field, the deuce, and whatever buzzes around it are all above you Maggarrotes, and he reports to me.

Here is how your miserable, pathetic lives are going to work from here out. Today, you will report to mess immediately. After your fat bellies are nice and full, we will march into the woods and you will get your hands nice and bloody. The Allies new training regiment is based around 'experience', and you bunch of babies are as green as a Banyan's behind. This Island is full of wild, ornery monsters fit for pathetic specimens like yourself. We find that trash like you learns better from real combat than putting holes in paper. From here out, your morning sunlight will be me teaching you Maggarrotes how to be proper humans, then proper soldiers if you useless Balaams can manage that much. You are then allowed slop in the mess. We will then do a repeat of today, getting some PT time as you taste blood in the forest. If there are any questions, ask someone who cares! Now hurry up, wouldn't want to eat cold food now would we?"

The DI walks off, followed by the earth-shaking footsteps of his monster. The line of recruits slowly makes its way to a long building, forming a line for the cafeteria like mess hall. It looks like you have some free time, for now.

(I just wanted to fit in a lot of fictional creatures in the DI's trash talk, I might have went overboard there :P. Gameplay wise, you will have some time to roleplay for now, and will then be dragged into an easy fight. This process will probably repeat until I finally get the mechanics down, then there will be a Boss Fight and the war will start. The Island is filled with monsters, giving Humans a chance to build their team if they are interested.)

(Oh, I meant "If you have not posted your character sheets in the OOC, you may enter the game once you post them (without needing GM review). If you have already posted, you are good, and may begin Roleplaying" :0. Sorry if that was unclear, I still hadn't taken a shower yet and was rushing things in the OOC post.)

Ahitama looks at Falder and his Persepros Ulinekus, commonly known as Dragon Turtle. He greets him :
"Nice specimen you have here."

"Oh excuse me. I am Ahitama, and here is Auahi. Say hi Auahi."

The magmanephrop emits a clicking sound with its claws.

((Allright, so far none of the monsters have introduced themselves. Starting battle tomorrow, with enough NPCs for every character sheet, so at least keep an eye out for that :P.))

"..."

Ferratus looks over at the two humans talking with themselves and then turns away, no longer interested. He simply reclines in his chair and no longer moves, waiting.

((Looks like I can safely move on :P.))

The sound of metal banging together rings though the mess, calling attention to the DI who appears to be banging pans above his head.

"Looks like you babies have over-eaten. Fatties have no place in my military, lets burn those calories! Hut to it, Kong hasn't had dinner yet and I'm letting him snack on whatever candy bar of a recruit falls behind me! Go go go! Lef lef lef righ lef!"

He begins funneling recruits outside, shouting as a several-mile march begins. The DI stays near the back, shouting at several of the in-worse-shape recruits who start to fall behind. One tried riding his monster, naturally receiving a tongue lashing in response. The forest itself has a well-worn dirt path, with pine trees thick on either side. Not much scenery changes during the march, someone could easily get lost if there wasn't a clear path. It finally comes to an end in a small clearing, a circle within the trees cut away to make room for what is essentially a football field without posts.

"Here we are. Now who is ready for some fun? You, you, you, and you. Step forward."

The DI points to the four players, motioning for them to step from the crowd.

"Catch your breath, then get ready for a fight. We are starting small, Maggarrotes like you fighting Maggarrotes like them. Kong! Three M1s, then four Maggarrotes, on the double!"

The massive ape walks from the back of the crowd. He is now wearing a gargantuan military-style backpack, which he is now reaching into. He pulls out a storage locker, gently placing it in front of the players using his thumb and forefinger. It opens easily, revealing several rifles lined up in a row, with ammunition clips on a top shelf. As the players grab their weapons, he reaches into his backpack once again. This time, he pulls out what appears to be a trash bag. He takes several steps into the field, placing it down half way across the clearing before returning to its former position.

The trash bag is still for a moment. It then explodes into life, squirming as if the trash bag itself was a monster. A white creature bursts from it, than another, than another, than another. Maggarrotes- creatures that physically resemble maggots, eating off of rotting corpses for the most part. When threatened, they use their long rope-like bodies to strangle opponents, though they are not much a threat without large groups.

"What are you waiting for? GO!"

Enemy:
Maggarrote 1
Maggarrote 2
Maggarrote 3
Maggarrote 4
Maggarrote 5
Maggarrote 6

"Leftmost ! Scorching Claw !"

Shouts Ahitama, before opening fire on Maggarote 5.

Auahi uses Scorching Claw [Boosted Attack] on Maggarote 6.

Zach grabs a rifle, "give me cover" he says to his monster before taking cover behind it, "now harden!" he leans around his now-immobile monster and opens fire on Maggarote 1

((I'm assuming the third M1 is for Ferratus. The Harpy has clawed hands, after all. Those don't grab things like guns well.))

Ferratus wordlessly charges at Maggarrote 2, firing his M1(/BAR if I was mistaken) and switching to his longsword once he reaches melee range. ([Boosted Attack])

((I'm assuming the third M1 is for Ferratus. The Harpy has clawed hands, after all. Those don't grab things like guns well.))
[[Actually, I'd wager you presume wrong - she only has has claws on her feet. Charging in on a mass of free-fire targets, would also be a bad, bad idea. Safe maybe for an armour, like your Ferratus ;3]]

Currently fanning herself as she hears Hartman's command, the harpy swiftly lines up for her gun, all smiles despite the jog visibly having taken a toll on her. During the later, she actually might have let loose some greek curses about land-squirming, though most of them were clearly said under her wheezing, if not at times non-existant breath.

"Well Now we're talkin'."
Recieving her rifle with a grin, Anfisa walks into position, before firing wildly at the middle of the maggarotes.

Anfisa fires quick bursts of fire at, eh, well, maggarote ~4
