Undeniably, irrefutably, the worst mayor ever
« on: April 05, 2008, 08:30:00 pm »

I had 29 people sentenced to beatings, and 4 sentenced to 50+ days in prison.

Apparently, these people haev either hurt him (why, I have no fucking clue) or ignored his mandates.

6 dwarves are dead from the beatings.

He is my max-stat axe-champion mayor/captain of the guards.

How can I stop him from getting people killed? I'm just healing everyone that is beaten (thanks Gib's tweak tool), but a long term solution would be great.

[Healthcare Update Thread] Personally, I can't wait for doctors to get possessed and start surgically attaching axes to champion soldier's arms.

And you're wondering why dwarves seem to do poorly after getting beaten by him?

I'm not, but I just need a way to make him stop.

he has already killed 2 more legendary crafts guys and a legendary miner. He sucks ass, I might just have to starve him to death.

1. Because he's also the captain of the guard.
2. Same thing.
3. That would be a good idea considering the current captain has max stats, but there's still a good chance one of the other guards will do the beatings.

I killed all the other guards (they just wasted food anyway).

I can't unassign him either, he's a legendary whatever, so he is stuck as a guard.

Interesting note: He has a super long name from beating so many people to death.

Oh, you made the captain a guard?  Oops.  I tend to make mine a hauler, to ensure he doesn't train much.

I would argue that's worth it.  A legendary miner is replaceable, and my fortresses tend to be overrun with legendary stonecrafters.

The problem is that he was my second to last legendary miner. The other three died of carp.

And I REALLY like my legendary people, they keep me able to buy out caravans.

When the next guy gets picked out for a beating, draft him and have him run into a deathtrap, and set it off when the Guard Captain comes in range.

He may regret he has but one life to be spent for the good of his countrydwarves.

That's the problem: I would kill him, but he is one of the original 7, he is max stat, as well as mayor and captain of the guards.

I need a way to stop him besides death.

However, if that is the only option, I may have to lock him in the rancor pit and have him fight goblins or something.

Kill him, make him kill himself, or lock him away in solitary.  Solitary may be your best choice, since it will prevent subsequent cap'ns from beating people.

If you're going to kill him, make him go with a bang.  Get him to go berserk, and then get all your peasants to gang up on him.  Viva la revolución!

Kagus: You will be proud.

I sent a felon into the goblin pit (which was empty) and let "Zaneg Tinothcilob Lolokvozbel Thazor" chase after him. I locked the door and retracted a bridge, so he could not get out in any way. After killing the decoy, he sat there getting angry because he could not punish the 40 felons or whatever on the waiting list to be beaten. I counted the list of people he hadn't beaten yet, it was 30. He had already beat 29. This means he had beaten almost half of my fortress, and 12 had died because of him.

I constructed a hallway of spikes at the pit exit, so he would die trying to get out.

Fortunately, outside my base, 7 ambushes occured, and my numerous cage traps caught about 25 goblins, including speargobis, axegobis, bowgobis, and more.

I waited until they were all around the pit's "creature Chute" that I dump stuff into, then tossed them all simultaneously into he pit. Half of them ran as far away as they could from the demented half-demon soldier, who was beheading goblins left and right with his bare hands.

After killing 15 goblins, he had bruised his second right finger and cut his leg. He wasn't even winded.

After being locked up for so long, starving and dehydrated, without decent sleep (the goblins ran from him while he slept) or being able to punish a criminal, he went bersek.

For Armok, I tossed in the last 10 goblins, 2 cougars, and I put my archers behind the fortifications looking in to the pit. All I could see was a cloud of miasma with bolts flying into it, and random limbs and bodies flying out of it.

One goblin jumped off of the platform (the pit had channels between the fortification to collect bolts) and he was smashed by a stonefall trap.

After the miasma cleared, I saw 2 dead cougars, blood and vomit everywhere, and a layer of goblin limbs. In the middle of the pit was Zaneg Thazor, punching bolts away left and right.

I decided that it was enough. I lowered the bridge, opened the door, and let him run straight at my 4 champion axemlords, 20 axemen, and 15 crossbow-dwarves.

After being impaled by 3 bolts, and surrounded by axe and plate-armor equipped soldier, he managed to kill 4 axemen and a random passerby.

I gave him the best tomb in the entire fort.
