((As of Fallout 3, they were awesome. By Fallout 4, they were a mere shadow of their former glory. They made the player do all their dirty work. They were xenophobes. The only reason they were so capable was because they had the tech passed down by the Fallout 3 BoS. Without the Prydwen, they would have been incapable.))

To be fair, I don't consider fallout 3 or 4 to be canon given bethesda's... questionable writing in those games.

((I don't see how you can consider two whole games, best selling ones too, to be noncanoncial. Like... what do you mean by questionable writing?))

Mostly due to the vast divergence in the quality of the writing between the first three games (F1/F2/FT) And most games after them. Sales don't really factor in since the earlier games were released when computer gaming was in it's infancy.

Commonwealth Brotherhood =/= CW Brotherhood.
Since they evolved from cool guys into giant assholes over ten years, then moved into Massachusetts there's gotta be a distinction.

also you can't really just
do that

He said advanced tech so I'm thinking diesel is out. Unless it's Future Diesel that doesn't use gasoline.
Also, they took out the Enclave, fixed Liberty Prime, and were pretty much the saviors of the Capital Wasteland, so.
You could say diesel with no oil. So it could be plausible

To be fair, there's not much point in using fossil fuels if we have access to fusion power (Unless you lack the capability to build/resupply them)

Fusion tends to be massive. Unless you have truly excellent energy storage capabilities,  there's still a use for diesel in land vehicles.

But scifi fusion can easily be compacted.

I do like the idea of scifi with semi-deiselpunk, though. Desert hoverjeeps...

Sure. But it's a much more interesting setting if it can't be.

((I'd much rather that instead of technology advancing into the ideal in the future, it simply makes complicated things more simple. Fusion should be limited to large stationary reactors or simply massive 'Experimental' class vehicles. Quantum computers should make robots possible, but A.I. still a pipe dream. Weapons should still be based off of projectiles, with laser and plasma fire being reserved for stationary platforms and the aforementioned experimental tier units, requiring a ton of power to fire. Missiles should be around the same power, just with longer flight paths and faster movement. Planes should all be VTOL with hovering capability. Energy shielding should be used on units powered by nuclear or fusion only. Therefore, the possibilty of a massive flying fortress of death remains, but is hardly achievable. I might draw up some weapons, vehicles, and structures when I get back to my computer if you guys like.

Needless to say, this game has piqued my interest.))

((Both dieselpunk and steampunk are impractical. The sci-fi aspect just wouldn't logically combine with it. I disapprove of any steampunk concepts past 1800-ish A.D.))
