Have your visitor necromancers spread the word to any neighbouring sites yet?
No, but I would imagine it would only be a matter of time considering the sheer number of scholars.
I wonder what the world will look like in a few hundred years, with all of those new necromancers running around.
I will continue updating to see what happens. For !!SCIENCE!!
I do recommend doing it just to see what happens. Bonus: Have a fort with 140 necromancers.
Is this before or after the carnage?
Before. Defiantly before. I lost almost all of my dorfs. I had such a big library and awesome fort that I didn't want to give it up.
Edit: I (thankfully) scummed right before dying by way of undead. So, apparently having an all necro fort is not that bad. No food is needed, or drink. I don't know if they get withdraw, which may be a really bad thing.... We'll see. So far, I locked everyone in the library. Also, I don't know if anyone had this issue, but there were a bunch of hostile visitors I had to kill with my military. Thank god the necros didn't find any body parts. We'll see how this works out.
Edit edit: So... After having 90 percent of my dorfs turned I learned something. They don't really do anything after being turned. They sit in the library and read books. Almost all active job designations (mine, gather plants, cut trees, build) is being ignored for a good long time. However, passive ones like fishing and the like are number one priories. They may finally do as I say, but they seem to want to read a great deal more now than ever. I have miners sitting and reading without ever having that issue before. They don't eat or drink, but I still haven't found out if they get withdraw. Recently, I had all the refuse and corpses moved before the necro problem got too bad. I had to autodump destroy it in DFHack to be certain. The military works about as well as ever.
Edit edit edit: Finally, I have been noticed on the forums. Love me.
