IT HAS BEEN CHOSEN

~~Prologue: Start of a Legend~~

You are Ingis Cotts, from Goebb of the Ebruh Empire. Born in a poor family, after growing to adult age you decided to look for a better life in the nearby city of Viezand with nothing but your trusty hatchet. But life isn't fair, and night after night of hunger and no opportunities you had to join a band of brigands to be able to survive.

Your family and you haven't had contact since then. They never knew that you became a bandit, and you didn't learn of their fate until you paid a visit months after. The soldiers of Viezand found out who you were and tried to interrogate your family for yours and your gang's whereabouts. But since they knew nothing, they were killed in retaliation and their house burnt to ashes.

With nowhere else to go, you returned to banditry until you found a strange book being carried by one of the victims of your ambush. There was no time to wonder what it was since a rival gang ambushed your ambush, yet you managed to flee to a nearby cave and started reading the book.

After days of working, you will soon have finished building a strange machine that the book described, among many techniques. But something disturbs the peace of your cave.

Huff... I'll hide in this cave until everything calms down a bit.

You can't allow this person to damage the machine or live enough to reveal your position. But all you have is the machine and your trusty hatchet. Looks like you'll have to deal with this yourself.

Turn 1
Spoiler: Important info (click to show/hide)

Rules of engagement:
You will move first, you can move up to your move listed in the info spoiler (4 tiles), and attack an enemy at the range listed (1-2 tiles away). Diagonal movement isn't allowed for distance calculations.
If you choose to attack, you will roll a number from 1 to 100. If the number is equal or less than your hit minus the enemy's evade, you will hit, otherwise you will miss. The same is done if there's a chance your attack could do critical damage. If you attack at a range that the enemy can counterattack from, they will counter your attack.
The enemy will move after you, with the same rules as you.

You have an active skill you can use: Brute Force. Call it when you attack to reduce your hit by 20 but increase the damage you deal by 4. You also have a passive skill: Renewal. You don't need to call anything, you will automatically heal in the beginning of your turn.
You have a range and movement advantage. Make good use of them and don't lose in the tutorial battle.

Can the bandit see us yet?

If not, Hide behind a cave wall and make bear noises.

We may be thieves, but we're not advocates of pointless killing.

Er, Yourmaster. That post you +1'd is the GM telling us to murder the guy. That's not an action.

We move to E7. Then, after the bandit moves, we attack him from anywhere with a ranged attack.

You move near the bandit and you recognize him as one of the rivals that killed your gang and forced you to hide.

Enemy Phase

And he recognizes you too.

Hey! You're the one that got away!

He gets a hold of his axe and starts making his way towards you to finish was they started.
