Bio and Description
Star is very clearly an alien- rubbery dark green-teal skin, white-streaked black irises on golden sclera, a head full of "tentacle hair," and a cross-shaped mouth that opens into a tentacled maw. On the other hand, she's pretty human looking otherwise, even possessing a pair of chest accessories normally considered uniquely mammalian around these parts. Her general build is athletic and well toned under normal circumstances, but she has the ability to flex and shift her flesh in ways that most humans don't, sometimes leading to rather severe distortions when she moves strenuously or at awkward angles.
What Star remembers most is the lights- almost like Christmas lights viewed through a distortion in appearance, but somehow fireworks feel more reminiscent. Explosions? She's not sure. But she remembers they're important, and that she's not supposed to remember them, and that she needs to... do something about them. Get back to them? Stop them? Bring them here? She doesn't know.
What she does know is that she was part of the fleet. A fleet, she supposes, but it felt like the fleet. She has the strangest feeling that her current surroundings are... half right, like perhaps she's on the right planet but wrong town, or wrong planet but right type of planet, or maybe that she's right where she belongs, she just thought she was going someplace different for a similar purpose.
Other things she remembers even clearer. She knows she's better than everyone here, even though it sounds weird and mean when you say it out loud like that, and that they therefore need her help and protection, even though nobody right here seems to want or need much of anything. She knows this planet is a backwater full of idiot primitives, even though she's not sure what not-primitives look like or how she knows they're so dumb. And she knows that if she's alone and can't remember anything, something must have gone terribly wrong, even though that's no excuse for not bringing... something, to the galaxy. Peace or... something.
In more recent developments, Star is actually Farfield's mayor. Like most of her time here, this feels right and wrong at the same time- somehow natural that she'd be managing these poor fools, but a little bizarre that she'd do so by being elected. It wasn't anything she planned, either- she was just unusually outspoken and apparently fairly convincing on a number of subjects, which in a place as unambitious as Farfield eventually saw her shuffled into office. She splits most of her time between double-checking that everyone has everything they need- they always do, even though it feels like they should or could have or want more- and trying to optimize the various systems and supply chains around town.
Star's personal life, such as it is, is mostly empty and unfulfilling. She's tried fitting in, but everything just feels so... hollow. Nobody seems to take their hobbies as seriously as she feels they ought to, which makes it hard for her to share them with anyone. She's tried dating, but with similar results; she doesn't think it's because they're aliens, though it might be because they're humans. She ends up working when she shouldn't be a lot, simply because her attempts to relax and enjoy herself just leave her feeling anxious, like there's something she should be doing instead.
The two exceptions to this are exercise and pets. She gets plenty of exercise, and is always willing to encourage others to do so as well, even though she knows most humans' idea of "exercise" is casually strolling along a lake. Exercise is one of the few hobbies that doesn't make her feel like she has more important things to do.
The second is Adam, her pet octopus. He was a gift from somebody who thought it looked like her; she doesn't see the resemblance, but she appreciates the gesture. She enjoys caring for Adam and attempting to teach him math, though his slow progress is giving her the idea that there's probably a better way to go about this. Sadly, most of the townsfolk are completely unfamiliar with educating anything, which makes her wonder about a lot of other things too.
Aspects and Challenges
Motivation: Pride. Star may not remember exactly who she is or why she's here, but she knows higher beings like herself have a sacred duty to protect and assist lesser beings like these Earthlings. She's utterly driven when it comes to things she can handle but the locals can't.
Epithet: The Iron Ambassador. Being very clearly an alien, remarkably resilient, and more than willing to aid and protect others tends to make people assume Star's people are probably pretty decent folk. Star doesn't think she was ever an official ambassador, but is more than motivated to serve as an example of her people and for the natives.
Social: Alien Arrogance. Star means well and always tries to help, but she's very clearly an alien and some of her views on humanity sound... disparaging, when taken out of context. Whether they're convinced she's going to eat them or certain that her people intend to enslave humanity for its own good, certain people sometimes find reason to dislike her.
Drawbacks: I will personally feel this in for you, once I have accepted your hero for play. Tho you can post suggestions! Expect me to try and bring you in line if I think your hero has the potential to outshine the others a bit too much-or just add an interesting twist.
Dwarmin knows I'm good for the rolls. And will no doubt have great fun figuring out how to damage a character with that much resilience anyway.
