I'm just asking if a trained hero can have a magic device, basically, made by someone else. It's actually super important for multiple elements.

The ICONS material and the OP mention Devices being used by Trained heroes, I'm just trying to suss out the complications and specific bits involved with Trained hero device usage. But the deciding thing here, I hope, would be that the character has genuinely no idea how to make anything magic -- he just has a magic shield to bestow on him his one power, and doesn't have a fleshed out set of powers because the one thing is all he has and he can't make any others. He's a Trained hero in that his actual training lies in a conpletely separate field from magic; the shield is from someone else, which will be very much relevant to his wanting to leave Fairfield if I can have him use the magic shield.

Actually, the two Gimmick heroes (Abram and GW) right now use tech.

From what I understand, a gimmick hero doesn't have powers independent of that gimmick-like Ironmans armor, outside of it he's just Tony Stark. A trained heroes powers/gadgets are separate from him.

Generally, it will be much easier to nullify a gadget power (by like, stealing it or something) than a gimmick power.

I think you could use either/or. But using both would require a double save from your target-to resist both powers.

A few questions:

-I am considering having a character with powers based around light. If I were to take Elemental Control: Light, and take Movement as one of the powers that come with it, could the movement be turning into light for a moment and dashing a distance? Or would that be Alternate Form: Light?
-Do we specify backstory from before the character was at the town, or just how they've lived in it?
-When will players be selected? On what criteria, specifically?
-Will there be a waitlist in case a player drops out or their character dies and for whatever reason cannot return?

IIRC Characters can easily come back, due to the nature of this being more or less a playable superhero comic.

Everyone knows only Batman's parents and Uncle Ben stay dead in comics. Pretty much. :P
