In games where running out of cards causes you to lose, you are instead Rendered "Helpless" which means once you try to draw, your cards become too exhausted to function any more in this match, you lose, but it is not a crippling blow.

Hearthstone is different, if you run out of cards, and do not surrender, you can die from fatigue damage if you keep playing.

this is reasonable right?

You can pick out those cards, but it is assumed you do all the boring stuff leading up to that in the background.

So heartstone, you skip a few turns, play some worthless minions and have them kill themselves somehow, then play your card whne oyu have enough mana.

Just pretend they did all the boring parts when they do an uncontested match.
I assumed running out of cards would give no negative, as we were limited to 15 cards.

In the case of Duel Masters, you have to place the first 5 cards of your deck face down as shields that will protect you.
Then you will have to draw another 5 cards to form your hand.
So that will only leave a Duel Masters player 5 cards in its deck, which means the player is on a really short time limit.

So either we scrap "deck-out" loss condition or we just adjust the number of cards in a deck. The decision is up to you Shadestyle.

Mill Effects should be nerfed, but I'll accede the point, for Dual Masters, there will be no downside to running out of cards, for the rest of the players, they have their own up and downsides to balance out the helpless status.

So now,

Dual Masters Have no downside for Deckout, due to needing 10 cards to start.

Hearthstone players get Fatigue damage for every turn they need to draw without cards.

Others Become "Helpless" and are functionally removed from that match.

Any objections?

15 card limit will be expanded with more cards, up to some limit I'll set later.  And more types for people with one object.

Question, what counts as energy for other games?
Warp charge in WH40K, but my army doesn't have any psykers (at the moment).

In WH40K, one wins by having more Victory Points (VP) than your opponent at the end of the game. It's possible to lose one's entire army and still win a Pyrrhic or Strategic victory. Is it possible for both parties of a conflicted match to win if they satisfy their win conditions?

How good is our Hero Insurance, i.e. will we get in trouble for causing collateral damage? It should always be avoided, of course, but still.

red eyes b. dragon confirmed for grima reskin

Slightly more relevant question, how exactly does being reduced to, say, 0LP affect us? Is it a sudden 'u ded nao'? Unconsciousness? 'U ded on next hit'?

Wait, balance question:

Is there anything stopping me from putting all the bits of Exodia in the deck of a Yu-Gi-Oh character?

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

But you never actually have to play any of it. If you have it all in your hand, you win right there, no exceptions.

Usually this is balanced by having to draw it all by luck- it is possible to get all of it in your starting hand and win before you've begun- but that becomes far more likely in the 15-card decks used here than the 45+ card decks used normally.
