Yeah, it is supposed to be like Old Yugioh, but... well... Yeah...

Like I said, I have a new game that has an old homebrew from years ago that is perfect and simple, and you can also do anything with it.

Basically, You stack everything related to your charecter as blocks on a pyramid, the higher up it is, the stronger the trait is.

Whenever a trait is rolled against, It has a chance equal to one over the other, and if they are equal, it is a 50/50 chance.

This means that level 1 and 2 traits are at the same level.

You have things like health and mana equal to their level.

Anything can be a block, from backstory to signifigant equipment

A block is influenced by thetwo blocks that support it.

So if you have Lifesteal, supported by Money and minions, it means your lifesteal is faccilitated by minions and money, however you care to explain it.

If you have a super form supported by your sword and your quest for vengeance, it means your transformation requires your vengeance and your sword.

In order to defeat an opponent, you want to attak their weak foundations and protect your own.

If your swordfighting is balanced atop your training and your sword, and they attack your sword instead of your sword figting, you could lose the sword temporarily, weakening or even preventing you from using your sword fighting.

It is impossible to have something be OP under this system, because anything can be balanced on top of anything, Playtesting has shown that this system is incredibly anime, since you can literally balance your ability to fire a giant laser on top of the friendships you have made, or literally anything else, and if something "strong" like invincibility is really low, then you keep getting hilariously beaten anyway because it is only level 1, so you like, get encased in cement or something.

Only problem is that it is kinda hard to format in the forums, I ran it in a google doc's sheet last time.

If i run that, yes, I can keep running this, but it will continue to be slow and stuttery.

Seems like it would be pretty easy to do here though, just put the foundations in spoilers titled with the top of the pyramid right?

Yeah, but you have to know what is supporting what, like.

Sword Sage Class.
Sword,   Weather,
Sword Maintenence training, Magic, Meteorology training

Assuming those are in spoilers, it is hard to tell what meteorology training, and magic are supporting.

Hm, could just have people use Google Docs for their sheets?

Yeah, that is how it would have to be done, but some people cannot use Google docs, so i would feel bad excluding them.

OH!

What if it were sideways in code?

Code: [Select]
Sword Maintinence
                   Sword
Magic                                Sword Sage Class
                   Weather Control
Meteorology

    Sword Sage Class.
          Sword,                Weather,
Sword Maintenence training,             Magic,            Meteorology training

Still takes some clever spacing to make it clear.

Might work.

You can switch your blocks around after placing them, right

Only when you gain a new one, or if you spend some kind of resource.

It would be strange if the guy who has Iron man armor based on money suddenly had iron man armor because of his economic beliefs in the middle of a fight or puzzle.

I'd be fine either way. This game is pretty cool, but so does what you're describing sound.

Same here, while I like the current game concept, I feel like slow updates break the pace.

Also your other game concept is super interesting, no way we wouldn't be up for it.
