I'm assuming they do so for effect, because the card states just having all five parts instantly wins the duel.

God damn it, Twin. Thanks, but god damn it.

Sorry. Poor wording. I mean if we get a Partial Party Kill but still win.

We'll just say Exodia isn't going to be a thing, and save me the trouble of another argument.

Exodia is a thing, but you can freely make it rare loot or *~not available where they are~* or something.

but

exodia retroactively not existing raises more problems than it solves

also, relevant:
destiny board
final countdown
number 88: gimmick puppet of leo
the creator god of light, horakhty

basically, a lot of insta-win cards in yugioh

all these win-cons
and kisa's stuck more or less relying on chance not to get killed before kisa can possess more enemy monsters

i'm sorely tempted to seriously buff the happiness mechanic so kisa doesn't just get 'lolrekt kthxbai'

Exodia not existing means an entire archetype vanishes. Do all the other instant wins have their archetypes vanish too?

I'd assume that once card games became real, the government or whatever is in charge of the card stuff would find and destroy all the insta-win cards since if some crazy guy found them then that would be bad.

Alternatively, they're far too rare to show up in the game.

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

Maybe there's a Game God out there that caused all this to happen and thinks the insta-win cards are cheap and unentertaining.

I never said they were retconned, I said they won't be a thing, you probably won't find any, probably nobody will use them.

I DID have plans to have some missions be based around stopping them from being used, but apparently that is just going to raise this shitstorm, so I'm thinking nah on that.

I think the idea of Exodia and similar archetypes being thr equivalent of Nuclear Weaponry to be feasible. It would make more sense to destroy those cards then keep them.

Esepcially if Exodia the Obliterator is so powerful that he just Obliterates everything in the vicinity, including whoever player him. That's a reasonable nerf. :P

Because trying to stuff Fate/Whatever's engrish and the title of a 17th century book on statecraft into Pokemon syntax tends to make the content incomprehensible.

what if the finale has all the yu-gi-oh players create exodia to destroy the gaming god, heroically sacrificing themselves to bring the world back to normal

god knows we probably have enough for each part of the guy
