Alright. This argument is over. We have bigger things to do.

Uriah looks at the council members arguing about anime with an expression of utter disbelief, before dragging his palm down his face.
"If... we're done, I had thought we were planning to invade the Tribes, not Lower Ohio?"

The palm has returned to his face.
"I am attempting to ensure that if we invade we are to take the path that won't strain us to maintain. I hardly think being "bloodthirsty" has much to do with that. And that besides, our neighbors are hardly a peaceful bunch in the first place. Tell me, where were you after the bombs fell?"

"I mean for the ten months between now and then. Where were you? Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina..."

"Virginia actually I think it's that huge office complex nearby and I kinda just ran around getting help where I could I eventually started figuring out stuff about people where to go what to say and the like I did stuff I'm not entirely proud of but that's in the past I'm here now and I'm alive.

"Well, I come from West Virginia. Northern panhandle. Small border strip of hills and mountains. And we saw chaos and incursion after incursion in the beginning. I toughed it out with the boys in the Mountaineer division I raised, and we kept the place safe, but it confirmed that something I learned in my years of service is still true after the bombs: the world isn't a peaceful place. You have to push against it, and you have to fight it doggedly, if you want to remain anything but a slave."

I was on Vacation in Mclean, Virginia. Right across from old Washington. As soon as the bombs dropped, I got my family and left straight to Richmond. Also, slavery is not back. Virginia and North Carolina were slave states though...

Sørensen glances up briefly from a dossier an assistant brought in, briefly adding to the conversation. "Slave labor made the U.S. the country it was. If it didn't have slave labor, it probably wouldn't have been the superpower it once was. Slave labor is just as productive as normal labor, just with lower wage expenses. Don't get me wrong; I'm just making an observation, not a suggestion."
